⚠️ WARNING: REACTIVE GERMAN SHEPHERD ⚠️

This is Kato, a 3-year-old German Shepherd who doesn’t trust strangers… and for good reason. 😳

For over a YEAR, nobody outside of his owner has been able to walk up, shake hands, or enter his space comfortably. The moment I arrived for our consultation, Kato made it very clear he wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with me. If he hadn’t been wearing a muzzle, getting bitten would’ve been a real possibility. 🐾⚡️

But that’s where leadership, communication, and understanding dog behavior comes in.

In less than 20 minutes, we went from complete distrust and aggression to building the foundation of trust and respect. 💪🐕‍🦺

STORM 🌪️🐾

One-year-old Cane Corso. BIG dog. BIG fear. BIG aggression. 😳💥

This was supposed to be SK9 Basic Obedience 1… but the SECOND he got here, it turned into full behavior modification 🦮🔥

Day 1 was CRAZY.

Wouldn’t let me near the crate 🚫
Growling. Lunging. Trying to bite.
Before the muzzle was even on… I got bit on the arm 🩸😮‍💨

Dog was so stressed he pooped all over the crate and wouldn’t even let me clean it without trying to attack 💥

But THIS is why relationship-building matters 💯🐾

Not even 24 hours later and Storm already looking like a DIFFERENT dog 👀🔥

✔️ Healing beside me
✔️ Sitting automatically when I stop
✔️ Learning leash pressure
✔️ Building confidence by the hour

And the craziest part? Today for the FIRST TIME EVER… Storm rolled completely onto his back and let me rub his stomach 🖤🐶

THIS IS WHAT REAL ADVANCED OBEDIENCE LOOKS LIKE. 🐕‍🦺🔥

Skii & Khole — BOTH German Shepherds, BOTH OFF LEASH, inside Petco. 🛒🐕🐕

I put them in a DOWN-STAY and walked away. Not a few feet either… I walked through an entire aisle, came out the other side, and continued around the store. I was out of their sight for 10+ seconds.

When the camera came back around?

THEY WERE STILL RIGHT WHERE I LEFT THEM. 👀💯

No creeping.
No getting up.
No following me.
No deciding the job was over.

Even when I walked right back past them, they stayed put because they were waiting on the release cue. 🫡

Then I released them into a heel, and BOTH immediately locked into perfect position. 💯

And we’re doing all of this inside Petco with:

🐕 Dogs
👥 People
🧸 Toys
🦴 Treats
🐈 Cat smells
👃 Distractions EVERYWHERE

They could smell everything, see everything, and still understood exactly what their job was.

THIS is why you put in the work.

Because obedience isn’t just about what your dog can do in your living room.

It’s about what they can do when the environment is working against you.

Took my personal dogs Sky & Chloe out into a public area and put them to work. 👏🏽

🔓 OFF LEASH.
🚶🏽‍♂️ Walking in a HEEL.
🛑 I stop — THEY stop.
🪑 SIT.
⬇️ DOWN.
✋🏽 STAY.
🚗 Cars driving by.
🚶🏽‍♀️ People walking by.
🌎 Real-world distractions all around them.

And what are they doing?

WAITING ON THEIR NEXT COMMAND FROM ME. 🫡🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺

THAT’S CONTROL.
THAT’S OBEDIENCE.
THAT’S RELATIONSHIP.
THAT’S REAL DOG TRAINING. 🔥🔥🔥

You can’t fake this type of work. You can’t talk your way into this level of obedience. SK9 BEEN PUTTING IN WORK. 💪🏽🐾

Give me the “untrainable” dog.

🐺🐶 THE DUO YOU DIDN’T KNOW YOU NEEDED! 🥜🍇

German Shepherd Bear 🐺 + my boy Jax the Goldendoodle 🐶💪🏽

These two are like Peanut Butter & Jelly 🥜🍇, Shaq & Kobe 🏀🔥, Batman & Robin 🦇, Jordan & Pippen 🏆, Sonic & Tails 💨 — different styles, SAME MISSION! 😂🔥

And when I tell you these boys were WORKING outside today… they were LOCKED IN! 🎯🐾

I started them both in a DOWN STAY to introduce them and establish control. Then we went straight into the HEEL 👣🔥

Side by side.
In sync.
Walking right with me. 🐺🐶💯

I stop ➡️ they both SIT.
I move ➡️ they move.
I call for a DOWN STAY ➡️ both dogs hold position.
I drop the leashes 🎯
I walk a full 360° around them 🔄
And they stay put until they hear that FREE release cue. 🫡🔥

THAT’S REAL WORK. 💯

You can’t fake this type of obedience. You can’t fake consistency. You can’t fake a dog that understands what’s being asked of them when the environment changes. 🗣️🐾

Meet Remi 🐶💪🏾 — a 6-month-old Terrier Mix with ENERGY FOR DAYS! 😂⚡️

When Remi first came to SK9, she was the definition of a wild puppy 😭💨 Pulling, moving, all over the place… just a straight BALL OF ENERGY! 🐕💥

Now look at her… 👀🔥

🚶🏾‍♂️ Speed it up? She stays with me.
🐕 Slow it down? She stays with me.
🏃🏾‍♂️ Light jog? STILL WITH ME.
🛑 Stop? She stops.

🐶🔥 JAX DID THAT. 🔥🐶

2 weeks ago, Jax the Goldendoodle showed up with ZERO brakes. 😅💨

Pulling on the leash? ✅

Ignoring commands? ✅

Stay? ❌

Recall? 😬

Focus on mom? Not happening. 😂

Fast forward 14 days and look at this dude now! 😎👏

🐾 Heeling like a champ

🐾 Automatic sits

🐾 Holding stays while mom has conversations

🐾 Waiting patiently for his release cue

🐾 Checking in and paying attention

🐾 Actually working WITH his owner instead of dragging her around 😅

One of my favorite moments was watching Jax sit calmly in the middle of distractions while his mom stood there talking. Before training, he would’ve been halfway across the county sniffing grass. 🌎😂

Now? He sits. He waits. He listens. 💪🐕

This is what happens when structure meets consistency. 🔥

Shoutout to Jax’s mom for trusting the process and giving her dog the opportunity to succeed. So many dogs are labeled “crazy” when in reality they just need guidance, leadership, and clear communication. ❤️🐾

SK9 FAMILY… DAY 3 IS LOOKING A LOT DIFFERENT THAN DAY 1! 👀💯

And that’s because WE DONE PUT IN THE WORK! 💪🏽🔥

When Blu first got here, he knew a lot of commands, but his FOCUS LEVEL WASN’T THERE. 🧠🚫 He struggled to perform outside of the house, especially around distractions. 🌎🐕‍🦺

Day 1, my boy was pulling me down the street, ignoring commands, and having a hard time staying engaged with me. 🦮💨

Now look at him after THREE DAYS! 👀🔥

🦮 PERFECT HEEL
🪑 SIT ON COMMAND
⬇️ DOWN ON COMMAND
✋ STAY
👀 FOCUS AROUND DISTRACTIONS

And NONE of this came easy. 💯 We put in the reps. 🔁 We built engagement. 🧠 We worked through distractions. 🌎 We stayed consistent. 💪🏽

Some of you may remember when we first met Blu during his consultation. 👀🐕‍🦺

Blu is a good dog, but there were some things we needed to clean up before taking his obedience to the next level. 📝
