Seddy Lujan’s The Misadventures of Bubbles and Nick doesn’t just tell a story—it bleeds one. Across a multi-chapter project that feels like both a diary and a dream sequence, Seddy channels the highs, horrors, and heartache of queer love through the fictional lens of Bubbles—a boy who falls hard, falls messy, and keeps falling even when the lights go out.
“This is the most honest thing I’ve ever written,” Seddy says. “Even though Bubbles isn’t literally me, every song is a piece of my heart. Every chapter is a real moment I’ve lived.”
Blending genres like bedroom pop, indie rock, and alt-R&B, the Chapters EPs unfold like acts in a queer coming-of-age drama—complete with romantic delusions, toxic truths, and tear-streaked goodbyes. The Misadventures of Bubbles and Nick begins with infatuation (“To You”), escalates into euphoria (“Spend the Night”), and nosedives into destruction (“Slut,” “Autophobia”). But unlike most breakup stories, this one has layers—because sometimes love doesn’t die. It just shapeshifts.
Nick, the boy Bubbles falls for, isn’t just a love interest—he’s a mirror. “Some songs are from Nick’s perspective because I wanted to tell the full picture,” Seddy says. “This relationship broke both of them in different ways.”
Each chapter builds on the last—Chapter One sets the stage for obsession, Chapter Two gives Nick his voice, and Chapter Three dives into the ache of holding on too long. Songs like “Just to Lose You” (a soft, crying-in-your-room indie track) and “Autophobia” (a raw, rock-driven anthem of emotional abandonment) expose both characters at their most desperate. But it’s “Dreaming of You” where Bubbles fully unravels: stuck between longing and reality, hoping the fantasy will come back.
The musical world of Bubbles and Nick feels stylized, like an 8-bit tragic fairytale—because in Seddy’s universe, heartbreak can still sparkle. “It’s sad,” he says. “But it’s also kind of beautiful. crazy.. “chapter one” my debut ep is out now on all major platforms … i love this project so much i spent a lot of hours crying texting everyone how much i just want to quit music or how much i hate one part of a song and then scrap the entirety of it all and never talk about it again (which is basically my entire unreleased catalog lmao) , BUT CHAPTER ONE IS OUT NOWWWWW 😭😭😭 like what the hell?!?
