Steve Remote was a legend. An audio engineer with an extensive and impressive list of credits that includes the Newport Folk and Jazz festivals.

He was our SöPa neighbor at Newport for the past 6 years. A rowdy video crew on permanent stoke are tough neighbors for an audio team that needs quiet to focus. Somehow we all made it work, and if you’ve ever seen an Instagram clip, or YouTube song you loved from the festival, half of that was Steve’s crew AuraSonic. They were the peanut butter to our jelly

The last time I saw Steve we were wrapping out at Newport Jazz. He let us borrow his golf cart so we could all go jump in the ocean and we promised to bring it back so they could load their gear. That kind of sums up our whole relationship, always negotiating how we could make each other happy.

Our teams have made some really beautiful work together that I’m so proud of. I respected him immensely and am going to miss seeing him around the Fort. My love to his friends and family, and the whole AuraSonic crew.

The industry mourns a real one 🎶🕊️ taken in Newport Folk Festival by @see_hennessy

I scooped up this little lady 💙

Been looking all over PR & NY, to end up with a homebase in RI, close to the water, close to Providence, and close to my Dad 🏡

Endless thanks to my friend and realtor @jenjeaton , my lender rep @chuck.gomes.home.loans and all the badass “rebels” and advocates that made it possible for single women to (finally) apply for mortgages (and bank accounts and credit cards) as of 1974 ✨

Entering my betty boop era 🐞

For Halloween I dressed up as a camera operator and shot @duranduran at @thegarden 🎥🎃

It was amazing to work with such a legendary Rock n’ Roll crew!! We interviewed fans that had flown in from all over the world for the show, and I got to run around MSG with some of my favorite ops. Be on the lookout for a concert doc! 🔥

Directing the legendary @nilerodgers for the finale of @newportjazzfest may have been my personal highlight of both weekends!!!

Thanks to the @sopa.productions crew, and thanks to everyone that comes together to make these magical weekends possible. “Be present. Be kind. Be open. Be together” ✌️
