I don’t recommend my old cold outreach guide anymore...❌It’s not that it’s bad. It’s that it was written in 2023, and the inbox of 2026 is a completely different beast. Layoffs, shrinking budgets, emails written by AI, artists sending more outreach than ever before...the landscape shifted and I kept doing the same thing hoping for different results.Spoiler: it didn’t work.So I rebuilt my entire outreach system. Proof of life / A last look at one of the banners I created for @deepellum x @deepellumfoundation x @visit_dallas It’s been a strange season of my life the past few months. I’m simultaneously having the best financial year of my life (which is nuts and I’m so happy about), but I’ve also been dealing with a major health issue and all that comes with it. I’m grateful to my wonderful clients who have allowed me to stay creative AND pay my bills during this time, because WHEW…I’ve been through it recently.I know, I know, I’m somehow saying everything and nothing right now, BUT I am actively working on a project to tell the whole story of what this season means for me, and the story is still being formed as we speak. I’m already excited to share it with you…even though half of me is afraid the ADHD will win out and I’ll never finish the project 😂 But I think I’ll see this one through, because it’s big, and I do want to share it.Hope you’re all doing well!And yes I am still working! You often see me incorporate the spotted jaguar in my work, like in this illustration. The jaguar was a revered symbol for the Mayan people, the Indigenous ancestors of Central America, where my family is from. I love the strength and beauty of these big cats and I try to incorporate them whenever I can!⁠⁠How beautiful would this illustration look on a bomber jacket or a big cozy blanket?
