A little ambition, a little introspection, and a reminder to pay attention to the life happening right in front of us 📚

This edition of Well Read moves from Cate Hall on building agency to a tribute to Dolly Parton’s creativity and generosity. Pamela Anderson reflects on being present, while Brianna Wiest asks how we begin to break old patterns. And The Fifth Sense has us curious about why everyone has “aura” now.

Five pieces to read slowly, sit with, and pass along to someone who might need them. Which one are you opening first? 💌 by @seekgoodpsyche

Katie Knowles has a way of making the long game sound appealing. She taught herself calligraphy, built a studio around work she loves, and kept showing up for it while working long shifts in emergency medicine. Now she’s creating bespoke wedding stationery and a business that gives her more say in how she spends her days.

For the final post in @katieknowlesdesign’s GP Salon rollout, we’re leaving you with her words on hard work, following through, and figuring out how to make what you love work for you.

A friend asked Katie Knowles to create signage for her wedding. Katie shared the work on Instagram, and soon people were asking what else she could make. She kept saying yes, fitting calligraphy projects around her shifts in emergency medicine until the creative work grew into a business of its own.

In this clip from the GP Salon, @katieknowlesdesign takes us back to those early days, when she was following her curiosity without knowing where it might lead.

Katie Knowles spent years working in emergency medicine while building her calligraphy studio in the hours around her shifts. Now, she creates wedding stationery meant to be held onto, asking whether a couple will still love it 20 years from now.

In her conversation with Trish at the GP Salon, @katieknowlesdesign talks about choosing a creative career, resisting the pull to go viral, and making work that feels personal enough to become an heirloom.

Introducing Well Read: a collection of writing we’ve been carrying around in our heads.

For Vol. One, we’re reading about the appeal of having a life of your own, the ways we become ourselves, the pressure to become everyone, and the peculiar wish to cartwheel out of a bad day. Five pieces, five very different voices, and plenty to talk about afterward.

Featuring @baddlexxi, @kellyblog, Amber of Ode to a Poet, Undiagnosed Girlhood, and The Forbidden Files 📖

Which one are you opening first?

We were never meant to find all of ourselves inside a feed.

Belonging is built closer to home: in the relationships we tend, the places we return to and the people who know us beyond what we post. It asks for presence, participation and a willingness to invest in the life happening right in front of us.

Our fall issue explores devotion in all its forms, including what becomes possible when we give more of ourselves to the people and places that give something back.

More print, more intention, more life. Comment “devotion” to pre-order the fall issue 🕊️

Remember when content had an ending?

A magazine had a back cover. An album had a final track. A television season went away for a while. You could finish something, sit with it and let the space afterward belong to you.

Now, the scroll replenishes itself before we’ve had time to decide how anything made us feel ✨

For Soft Focus: Vol. One, we’re revisiting the era before culture became an endless feed and wondering what happened when we stopped reaching the end 💿

Want more Good Psyche beyond the scroll? Comment “UNPLUG” and we’ll send you access to subscribe to GP Magazine 🌾
