I write these words with a heart heavy with sorrow and fear. 💔
I am living under extremely harsh humanitarian conditions in Gaza, where we no longer have the basic necessities of life or safety.
Every day here is indescribable suffering. I have lost the feeling of security, and my life lives are in constant danger.

I beg you from the depths of my heart: is there anyone who can help me or find a safe way for me to leave this place?
All I dream of is survival—to live a normal life in peace, far away from this ongoing fear.💔🙏🏻

I am a student from Gaza. I graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Law, where I studied Law in English. I worked incredibly hard to build my academic future, but the war in Gaza prevented me from completing my dream of pursuing a master’s degree and building the career I had worked so hard for. ❤️‍🩹

Because of the circumstances, I began searching for opportunities to continue my education and find work abroad, hoping to reach a safe place where my husband and life partner lives and, after almost seven years of separation, finally meet him and reunite with him. 🫂💔

Despite everything happening around me, I continued applying and using my academic qualifications, experience, and achievements to pursue opportunities abroad. Thankfully, my efforts were successful, and I received multiple admissions from some of the most respected universities in Europe and the UK, with opportunities in countries including the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Ireland. 🎓❤️‍🩹

These offers gave me hope that I could finally continue my education, leave Gaza through a legal pathway, and reunite with my husband after nearly seven years apart. But unfortunately, we were not fortunate enough to receive the scholarships or financial funding needed to make this possible. There are far more applicants than available fully funded opportunities, and despite my qualifications, I was not selected.

So now I have university admissions and the academic ability to continue my journey, but I do not have the financial means to take the next step.

I am urgently trying to raise enough support to cover the necessary university payments and the costs required to begin the coordination and travel procedures so that I can leave Gaza and reach a safe place where I can continue my studies and finally reunite with my husband. ❤️‍🩹🙏🏻

I am not asking for help because I have given up on my dreams. I am asking because I have fought incredibly hard to keep those dreams alive despite the war, displacement, fear, and years of separation. I have done everything I can academically, and now I need help with the financial part that I simply cannot manage alone.😭� by @seela22a

Some things have the power to bring us together beyond words and music has always been one of them!

From movements for justice to moments of personal healing, music has carried messages of solidarity, hope and resilience across the world.

I’m honoured to be hosting “Piano For Palestine”, a fundraising evening to support my Palestinian friend Aseel [@seela22a] pursue her Law Master’s Degree.

This will be my first ever piano performance as a self-taught pianist, a dream I never expected to share after two brain surgeries and a challenging road back to myself this year. Sitting at the piano has been a reminder that creativity, courage and connection can grow even through difficult seasons.

Aseel is a law graduate currently looking for evacuation to attend university in Italy, France, or the UK. She is specifically asking for anyone in any humanitarian, academic, or legal organization with knowledge in evacuation programs (University Corridors/IUPALS), or in direct contact with the British Embassy in Jerusalem, the UK FCDO, or any official UK government or humanitarian channel related to evacuation to contact her.

This is a serious request for real intervention or guidance to reach the official evacuation pathway. Aseel has confirmed university admissions and submission of all required documents to move forward with evacuation, but her access to enrollment is blocked due to the evacuation process.

For Aseel, this is not just an academic opportunity, but her entire life path currently suspended on one critical step. Aseel and her family have been displaced since October 2023 and were only able to make a campaign in July 2025.

Aseel’s first immediate need is getting contact with someone that can help her with the evacuation process. Once Aseel is able to evacuate, she will need financial assistance. I will be donating $1 USD (up to $50 USD) per red, green, white, and/or black book stack tagging me and posted with the tag #poppystackforaseel. Aseel, who turned 25 last December, has spent the past year working tirelessly to pursue her education abroad despite uncertainty and repeated setbacks. She applied to multiple scholarships in Ireland and the UK, facing rejection from one and prolonged silence from another. After months of stalled progress, she sought support from an educational office in Gaza that assists students with scholarships and travel visas.
Through their guidance, Aseel applied for a scholarship in France, and received an acceptance. With her final interview approaching, she is now one step away from securing her place. Once confirmed, she must cover mandatory office and processing fees, which are time-sensitive and required shortly after the interview.
At this critical moment, Aseel needs support to move forward. Any contribution helps her take this final step toward an education she has worked so hard to achieve, and affirms the belief that opportunity should not be limited by circumstance.
