When I’m driving around looking for things to photograph, it’s not always easy to stop and snap the shot. No shoulder, two lanes, traffic coming behind me, hills and curves so I’m not sure when or where they’re coming from and I don’t wanna get too close or trespass. Needless to say it’s not always as simple as stopping, jumping out and taking a picture. Some folks are more private while others couldn’t care less. Still working on getting a good eagle photo but those are extremely rare.

All that to say, I saw these long horned field puppies a long time ago, (there’s one with absolutely massive horns I couldn’t snap but I digress) and after staring at them, I could help but think, “Dang that looks heavy and cumbersome.” (<- not AI. That’s the word I genuinely thought of. I can talk good.)

When you look it up though, you find out their horns are mostly hollow. They’re also gentle and friendly despite their looks. This reminded me of the scripture Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for l am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is. easy, and my burden is light.”

While I’m not comparing our Savior to a breed of cattle, it’s amazing the things you’ll find Him in if you just open your eyes to see. ❤️ Let’s pray for the right perspective of Him while embracing being fully seen by a loving, servant of a King.

John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” We were already going to hell. Jesus stepped in to bridge the gap. He’s not judging you. He doesn’t need to. He’s preparing us for it. He’s giving you a choice. An infinitely better one.

I caught the tail-end of Angels In The Outfield again. I was praying bc I believe God has been dropping little hints for me.
It’s been thundering on and off all afternoon and evening and I love to watch the clouds but I couldn’t see the sky from where I was sitting so I leaned over and caught a glimpse of this. I jumped out of bed thinking, “No way! Not as I was praying!” I snapped this photo and not long before or after, (can’t remember bc I was taking several) this tiny bolt of lightning flashed. Call it cheesy, but I would’ve missed the whole thing had I not felt Him speaking and leaned forward bc I wanted more of Him.

Lean forward.

Y’all know the original, deeper meaning behind the rainbow?

I like to post natural about The Bible and natural beauty around me but a photo that stopped me in my tracks was a single fake yellow tulip, (could’ve been a rose I guess- thought it was at first) on a gravel road. I had asked God to speak to me in an unexpected way. I needed to feel His presence. I wasn’t sure but I wanted to know the meaning behind it so I looked up what a yellow rose meant. Then, when I had turned around and came back by in my way out, I saw it looked more like a tulip. just quickly asking Siri what yellow rose/yellow tulips meant warmed my heart. It was an obviously fake flower. Most would call it tacky. I usually do in fact but it was so out of place around all that farmland on one side and a river on the other. God met me there in something the world would call tacky. That’s such a vivid picture of how He works. What’s the meaning? Rose: Hope, fresh start. That tracks with what I felt God had been saying to me. Yellow tulip? Is there some kind of meaning to this? Hope, cheerful thoughts, “considered the ultimate just because flower”. 🥹 There are so many angles to see things from. While there’s only one absolute Truth, God has a way of making us ask questions to get to the heart of His Truth. That’s what I hope to convey with this account. Love you. 🫂❤️ He sees you. He longs to answer you. I almost missed it bc it wasn’t what I was expecting. A lot of people will miss knowing the true Jesus bc He’s not what they expected. Those who have ears to hear, let them hear. I pray God pours out His Spirit on us all, giving us those eyes to see, ears to hear and hearts that are receptive to His absolute Truth, conviction, calling, the kindness that leads us to repentance and salvation itself.

“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, when your fathers put me to the test and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.” Psalm 95:7-9

Every summer I look for these beauties. These and the white egrets we spot flying over fields or with their little heads spying from rivers and sloughs. They’re a constant in my life. I look forward to feeling the heat of summer and hearing the gravel road under my tires. I just slowly cruise near some soybeans or rice, windows rolled down, and see ‘pops’ of purple that make me hit my brakes and pause.

I’m very forgetful.

Every year my mom and I get too impatient. Southern heat comes pretty fast in the spring so it’s easy to get lost in the thought that bc the warm weather is here, the egrets and passionflowers should be here. And every year, we wait and we ask each other:

“Was it later last year when we finally saw them?”
“Idk, I was thinking it was sooner. Maybe the pesticides got to them,” (egrets)
“Maybe people are tired of you taking pictures…” (flowers) We’ve spotted more than one dead heron over the last two years around the area but we weren’t sure what was killing them.

But week after week, as we wait not-so-patiently, the first official day of summer comes and the passionflowers bloom. A couple of weeks later, the egrets make their appearance.

I don’t know about you but I doubt God a lot. Things will look absolutely impossible. We start asking, “What if I got it wrong?” “What if I forgot what God told me?” “What if that’s not what the Scripture means?” “Did I waste time doing something outside my calling and when will I know?” “WHEN WILL GOD ANSWER ME?”

On time. He answers on time. Every single time.
He’s as faithful as He’s always been with the same things we worry endlessly over. He promises when we seek we will find. When we draw near to Him, He draws near to us. Those who hope in Him will never be put to shame.

1 Peter 2:6 “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”

We can be certain that The God Who Sees us, El Roi, will never leave us in the dark forever.

Y’all. 😆🙌 I was facing some spiritual warfare earlier. I begged for God to intervene. I knew I needed to pick up my Bible but I’ve been so tired the last few days. God had already led me to 1 Samuel 15-17 I think. I had left my notebook in my Bible as a bookmark. After I prayed, listened to a few worship songs and procrastinated, I opened it up. I wasn’t sure God wanted me in the same place. He did. Lol. When I had finished reading back through the passages and the notes He gave me to write n the margins just days ago, I closed my Bible, still bookmarking it with my notebook and I had earlier been looking for any email to encourage me. The gmail app was still open. The Pinterest widget changes hourly. 😆 I was so scared before and I so didn’t deserve this moment. I’m never not amazed by His grace, His timing, His confirmation and His sense of humor. What a mighty God we serve!

Jesus is God and He’s not pleased with this foolishness. He’s not in the garden, He’s at the door! Get it right! You only get one chance, loves. He’s crazy about you. You’re making a choice. He can’t save you if you don’t consent to being saved.
You gotta acknowledge Him for Who He is and acknowledge what and who you are before Him. Our righteousness is as filthy rags before The Almighty. Humble yourselves before The Lord! He stands at the door of heaven. He stands at the door of your heart and knocks! Seek Him while He may be found! DO NOT PLAY ABOUT GOD. DO NOT PLAY ABOUT ETERNITY!!!

The Problem (Romans 3:23): “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Everyone is a sinner by nature and action.

The Promise (Romans 10:13): “For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” — God guarantees salvation to anyone who sincerely calls upon Him.
