Wheeee! Didn’t plan to go airborne during this lifestyle shoot, but always up for the challenge. Then, as the next two photos show, I had to sit for awhile.

The hardest part about this shoot? Trying to resist the freshly made guacamole and homemade tortilla chips that the @mayanmonkeybrewing offered.

Of course I couldn’t resist. Life is short. Adding “eat without messing up your makeup” to my skills resume.

Quite a surprise to realize I have worked with 14 fashion photographers in 21 months!

Shoutouts to @otboutiques as I did a little local retail therapy this weekend:

@theshoehive – This @thinkrolyn tote is PERFECT for a shoot later today!

@vida_style_shop - This @jcrew shirtdress was just $10! All sales from the $10 rack support @acpsk12 teachers. In times past I’ve snagged a yellow silk @MaxMara dress and a spring green cashmere @talbotsofficial sweater. Love a bargain, and especially if it’s for a great cause.

Btw, this Vintage @escadaofficial belt was another find.

What you don’t see from Saturday’s adventure: A beautiful blue linen shirt from @donnalewisusa

If you’ve not shopped in Old Town Alexandria for beautiful and unique finds, please set aside a few “me time” hours and treat yourself. These shops are all within a few blocks of each other (and my house, which can be a good or a bad thing). And there’s plenty of cute cafes scattered about if you need to refresh and recharge.

Oh, those cute sandals? @comfortoneshoes on King Street. Those gold earrings? kingsjewelryva. And that “Mad Men” vintage necklace? A Galerie on Cameron Street.

Saturday afternoon was so much fun - and a complete honor - to emcee the “BBQ and Blooms Summer Bash” for @culpeppergarden . They provide independent living and care services for low income seniors in the Arlington County area.

And it was a chance to share a little about being the “lead kid” in charge of my mother’s care while she was in an independent living/graduated care facility in western Ohio. It’s rewarding, it’s brutal, and it’s everything in between.

For four years I positioned myself by the door at the neighborhood gym during workout classes in case her caregiver called me and I had to dash out of class.

So many guests empathized.

And it was a team effort - my husband tended bar. 🍺

After months of Zoom calls and email, @modeling_withvicki_ , the dynamo owner of @seasonedmodelsnyc and I finally met in person yesterday in her cozy, Flatiron office. It was so worth the short flight and we recorded a short video just for you (go to either of our stories).
