4 days fishing for giant alligator gar on the Trinity River is now live! My goal was simple: catch one bigger than me (over 6’ 2”)

Joining me on this @fieldandstream Adventure were @cookingwithclams and @ryan_izquierdo

Over the course of the trip, we targeted these prehistoric fish in just about every way imaginable. From the traditional method of soaking cut bait from the boat and riverbank, to blind-casting giant swimbaits below a dam, and even using LiveScope to virtually sight-fish these monsters with lures.

Along the way, we caught and tagged more than 30 alligator gar for research, including some absolute giants. But as I was about to find out, catching one bigger than me wasn’t going to be as easy as I thought...

Check it out now by clicking the link in my description!

Huge shoutout to @victorinoxnorthamerica, @gorving, and @bogsfootwear for making this trip possible!

You’re probably wondering how I got here…

During the @fieldandstream South Carolina Fish Camp, @ryan_izquierdo and I did a catfish fishing competition on Lake Marion. Needless to say I did not win 😂🎣 thank you to @sportsmans_warehouse and @uglystik for setting us up this trip!

"𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙊𝙘𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩" | A couple pics from today’s new video where @hog.squadfishing and I went 50 miles offshore and caught a wide variety of species. We then took some of the fish we kept to a local restaurant where they cooked it for us. Check out the video if you haven’t already, link to the video in my description.

In case you didn’t know, redfish like cut bait.

Check out the new video I posted last night where I spent 3 days over the span of 2 weeks specifically targeting redfish using cut bait (featuring @_adamnorris_ from @tailwater_outfitters and @austin_j.fry behind the 📷)
