My Journey as a founder, so far..

Its crazy how one idea can change your whole trajectory.

I think social media has made the beginning stages of building something feel embarrassing.

Everyone sees the big launches, success stories and achievements.

But what about the first attempts, mistakes and things that don’t work?

You can’t expect to be good at something you’ve never done before.

Do you think social media motivates people to start, or makes them afraid to fail publicly?

5 figures for an idea that once only existed in my head. 🤯

When I started Afro London, I knew I wanted it to become more than just clothing.

That eventually became Afro London CIC and Let’s Design, a programme giving young people the chance to explore identity, creativity, branding and fashion.

I took the idea, put it on paper and applied for funding.

The National Lottery Community Fund backed it with 5 figures.

Now I’m watching young people actually experience something that was once just a thought.

Still building. Still learning. But moments like this remind me why I started.

Follow @seidubuilds I’m documenting the journey as I build it. 🤝🏿

Grateful for another year🤲🏾 by @seidubuilds

Built by the city. Driven by the mindset.

“OF COURSE I WORK HARD, I’M A LONDONER.”

More than a statement. It’s the mentality of a city that teaches you to keep moving, keep building and keep evolving.

Welcome to Afro London Shark Tank 🦈🎤

Ideas turned into brands. Brands turned into pitches.

Our young creatives stepped up in their groups to present their concepts, explain the purpose behind their brands and put their confidence to the test.

Because having an idea is one thing. Learning how to communicate it is another. 🚀

Founder Spotlight 🎤💎

The Let’s Design students had the questions, I just shared what I’ve learned along the way.

One of the most important parts of Let’s Design is giving young people access to conversations that can shift how they think about creativity, business and what’s possible for their future.

Knowledge means more when you pass it on. 🚀

Fashion can say more than just what you wear.

At Afro London CIC, we’re showing young people that creativity doesn’t have to glorify crime, hustle culture or fast lifestyles. It can tell the story of who you are, where you’re from and what you stand for.

Because when you create something with purpose, it has the power to inspire others. 🚀
