Meet the collectives shaping our ADE rituals. Next is IsBurning, whose Friday afternoon curation forms part of ‘Meditation on the Deep Sea.’

The theme takes the ocean’s movement and incomprehensible depth, shrouded in mystery, as a starting point. Musically, it invites explorations of low frequencies, fluid textures and sounds that slowly emerge and recede. Ambient, submerged dub and sustained tones can suggest a world that continues far beyond what we can see.

IsBurning grew from a need for freedom. Rooted in Amsterdam’s queer community, their gatherings bring people together around house and techno, creating space for discovery and self-expression. At their own parties, line-ups are kept unannounced. You come with curiosity, trusting the people choosing the music.

That openness finds a home at ZERØBPM. Artists have room to explore another part of their musical world, untied to the needs of the dance floor.

From 12:00 to 16:30, IsBurning welcomes Seif Bedour, Merve and Portable into De Thomaskerk. Seif Bedour opens at noon, Merve follows at 13:30, and Portable closes the curation with a live performance at 15:00.

Friday / Day | DEEP SEA
12.00 - 18.00

Friday afternoon unfolds across four sets, co-curated by IsBurning.

IsBurning is a queer gathering born at Trouw Amsterdam and rooted in the legacy of old-school LGBTQ+ club culture.

Seif Bedour, Merve and Portable (live) shape the first part of the day: three distinct voices in the IsBurning orbit.

At 16.30, Altinbas opens Sea~rène’s curation. Known for his precise, deeply atmospheric selections, he carries the room from day into evening.

What a ride the past June and July have been, from the grounding moments, to playing at Pornceptual and Refugee Welcome Week at Radio Radio, attending my first WHOLE Festival, and traveling to Marseille for the first time. I’m super grateful for these experiences.
also, just gently recovering from them.

Here are some snippets of my Pornceptual mix, recorded at Parallel in the Ambient Space on the 14th of June. It’s a curation of dreamy electro, ambient, IDM, and intimate vocal storytelling. Link in my bio.
