Outra Cena Vol. 1: Three Years And Counting!

— — —

On the 3rd anniversary of Outra Cena, we are excited to announce a VA compilation to launch our new label, featuring music by artists who have been part of the club’s story so far. Visit:

outracena.bandcamp.com

This is a fundraising release: as our doors remain closed, all money from sales will go towards helping the club recover from almost a year of persecution by the local authorities.

The label seeks to capture our artistic and musical identity, shaped by the many artists who have passed through the club’s unique space, and who are pushing things forwards in this city on the margins. Listeners will get a taste of the OC even if they’ve never been here; and if they have, it should bring back hazy, happy memories.

To assist in the fundraising effort, a limited edition t-shirt featuring artwork by OC designer David Rubio Meau will be sold alongside the compilation.

Huge thanks to @noname_lanaturefestival for the invite to play this year, and to the team for taking great care of me the whole time.

A special event in so many aspects: the surrounding nature, the scenography and overall production, the nicest crowd and an outstanding level of musical curation, bold and thoughtful. A must go if you haven't had the occasion yet.

Hope to be back soon 🌀

Much love

Closing the first night of pe:rsona, seiva unfolded hazy echoes and shimmering layers, weaving a warm and introspective journey that left the Forest Stage suspended in stillness.

Friday, 06/12, Outra Cena, This Side

A party for the misfits, the seekers, the lost and the found.

Launching on Friday 6th December, @lostandfoundlisbon welcomes drum n bass pioneer @dbridge for his first appearance in Portugal in over 5 years. Outra Cena provides the perfect backdrop for this dark and seductive encounter: concrete walls shake, lights flicker, smoke curls — and the crowd moves in time. With an opening set from @seiva____ and closing from Lost and Found’s Alite @onemoregio, expect a mesmerising night of no-holds-barred soundscapes on This Side.

dBridge has been at the forefront of the drum n bass scene since its emergence in the mid 90s, when the first post-jungle mutations took UK soundsystem raves by storm. From the chart-hitting success of Bad Company to the expansive vision of his own @exitrecordsuk, dBridge continues to lead the way in his own uncompromising, yet generous, style. A rare opportunity to see a master at work.

Sexta-feira, 06/12, Outra Cena, This Side

New mix online, recorded during the @outracena_lisboa x @positiveeducation night in May. This date was special since this festival had been such a source of sonic inspirations and discoveries. It was a huge honor to contribute.

If you've never been I can only recommend the trip to Saint-Etienne in November. This year's line up is once again complete madness.

And while we're at it, one of the two curators behind the festival, @antoine.hern_ndez is launching end of October what promises to be the best club in Paris for cutting-edge club music. Go follow @essaimparis 🐝

Link for the mix in bio. Shout out to all the wizard producers without whom nothing would be possible. Buy the music you play, or ID it if it was kindly given to you.
