People have asked what pup play means to me. 🐾 The answer is simple. It gave me a place to stop being ashamed of myself. ❤️

Before I found this community, I spent a long time moving through the world feeling like I had to make myself smaller. As a young gay person, I carried shame that wasn’t mine to begin with. I judged parts of myself before anyone else had the chance to.🧡

Finding pup play didn’t magically heal me. It challenged me a lot! I had to unlearn a lot of fear, and I had to learn that not every person was meant for me. Some people welcomed me with kindness. Others have pushed me away. Those experiences hurt, but they also taught me something important.💛

My safety doesn’t come from being accepted by everyone. It comes from accepting myself. 💚

Today, pup play is one of the ways I reconnect with joy. It reminds me to play, to breathe, to trust my body, and to be present with people who love me for who I am. 💙

There will always be people who choose to misunderstand things they don’t relate to. 💜

I’m no longer living my life to shrink and make other people comfortable.🩷

I’m living it in a way that finally lets me feel at home in my own skin.

If my story helps even one person replace judgment with curiosity or shame with self-love then sharing my experience is so worth it to me!
