For the first time, I’m introducing the woman behind SelahStarrStudio. ✨ SelahStarrStudio began in 2022, during a season of uncertainty, motherhood and the fear of what the future could hold. As I navigated single motherhood, I found myself returning to something that had always been a part of me: jewelry and creativity. Looking through old photographs, I realised I had always expressed myself through accessories. The love for jewelry had been there from the beginning, I just hadn’t recognised it. Creating became more than a business. It became healing. A way to turn ideas into something tangible, unique and beautiful. I also wanted to contribute to creating a stronger market for custom, handmade jewelry in Ghana. A space where creativity and self-expression could exist without boundaries. And then there is the name. Selah is my daughter’s spiritual name. Starr is her nickname. This brand is a dedication to my daughter, my journey as a mother, and the legacy I hope to leave behind. Building SelahStarrStudio has built me too. It has taught me confidence, resilience, accountability, patience, discipline and the importance of refusing to settle for mediocre when I know I can do better. I’m still learning. Still unlearning. Still becoming. My vision is to build an inclusive one-stop destination for custom and handmade accessories, bringing affordable luxury, individuality and meaningful self-expression together. But I want SelahStarrStudio to be more than what you can purchase. I want to teach, train and educate as many people as I can through this platform, creating room for other creatives to discover their abilities, develop their skills and realise what they are capable of. Ultimately, I want to build something that outlives me. Something my daughter can one day look at and see not just as a business, but as a story of courage, creativity, motherhood, growth and legacy.
