Sometimes the add-on becomes the statement piece.

“Truly Blessed” originally began as a much smaller concept. But once the room started coming together, we realized the design deserved more presence… so I scaled it up and painted it directly onto the wall.

The result was a bold 48” × 60” feature that added another layer of personality to the entire basement transformation.

And that’s the beauty of custom artwork: every mural doesn’t have to cover an entire room. One intentional feature wall, quote or statement piece can completely change the energy of a space.

A mural becomes completely different when the details actually mean something.

My client’s connection to New York wasn’t limited to landmarks. His story was rooted in Brooklyn, neighborhood memories, family traditions and the places that helped shape who he became.

That’s why this project needed to be more than a beautiful city scene.

The skyline established the location. The Brooklyn-inspired details created the feeling. And personal elements like the Robin’s Nest gave the space its heart.

The result is a basement that doesn’t simply look like New York… it feels connected to his version of home.

That is always my goal with custom artwork: creating something that couldn’t belong to anyone else.

From Georgia back to Brooklyn… without leaving the basement.

This mural was created for a client who wanted more than a New York skyline. He wanted the wall to hold pieces of his story: the city, the neighborhood, the memories and the feeling of home.

Every detail was built around that vision, turning an ordinary basement wall into something deeply personal.

This is what I mean when I say I create more than art. I create spaces that feel like you.

The planning
The people
The pressure
The long days
The small decisions that become something big

I had the opportunity to contribute across the process… from execution on the wall to supporting the flow of the work behind the scenes

This wasn’t just painting

There’s a difference between painting a mural… and producing one.

After spending 30 days on a large scale public mural here in Atlanta along the 17th Street Bridge near Atlantic Station, one thing became very clear.

Execution at this level requires more than artistic vision.

It requires structure. Coordination. Endurance.
And a team that understands how to move a project from concept to completion.

This mural, part of Atlanta’s journey toward the FIFA World Cup 2026 @fwc26atlanta , stretched across nearly a quarter mile of bridge space and over 4,000 square feet of painted surface. With over 100 soccer balls and 48 nations represented, it stands as a reflection of culture, movement, and global connection.

The amazing design was led by Melissa A. Mitchell.
The execution was carried by a team.

Alongside the support of the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta @girlscoutsatl and community volunteers, this project was primarily painted by a core group of 8 professional artists who showed up daily, committing to long production days and often working 10 to 12 hours to bring the mural to completion.

Under the leadership of Project Manager Kayla Marshall @k6yla , the structure, coordination, and day to day execution of this project were held together with consistency and intention. Work at this scale requires real leadership, and it would not have been completed without it.

Supported in part by materials sourced from The Home Depot @homedepot , an official supporter and the official home improvement retailer of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

This experience expanded my role as both a muralist and creative project coordinator, working across painting, operations, and production support to help bring a major public installation to life.

Grateful to have contributed to a project that represents Atlanta on a global stage.

I’m stepping forward with a deeper understanding of what it takes to execute at this level and a continued commitment to doing it well.

Last night was everything I dreamed of… and more. ✨

We officially SOLD OUT our very first Sélaré Sip & Paint Experience with 30 RSVPs and 36 beautiful souls in the room. The energy, the laughter, the creativity… it felt like a true reset.
