Here’s the text that @jumegon did for the show:

SELEKA MUÑOZ (Seville, Spain, 1982)
Seleka is an artist, cultural agitator, curator and gallerist. In 1993, at the age of 10, he began painting in the streets of Seville and is recognized as one of the pioneers of graffiti in Andalusia. He belongs to a generation of committed, active, innovative, and influential graffiti artists.
Seleka Muñoz’s work has two clearly differentiated lines. One is his studio work, where he creates contemporary abstract pieces using traditional painting techniques. The other line explores the streets in an alegal and illegal manner, detached from the establishment, positioning himself as an outsider and developing unique projects without limitations. His ephemeral paintings have been seen throughout Spain as well as in France, England, Portugal, Italy, the United States, Mexico, Morocco, among others.
He is also the co-director, alongside Laura Calvarro, of Delimbo Gallery, a gallery specializing in urban art that represents the most influential artists in the local and global urban scene.

Buenaventura
Seleka’s work is an act of celebration. The title of this solo exhibition, Buenaventura, is also a
declaration of intent: fortune as a vital attitude and joy as a way of being in the world.
Following a month-long residency in Lima, the Seville-based artist presents a series of canvases
shaped by immersion, contemplation and play. In these works, his visual language expands
without restraint.
In his paintings, each stroke of colour seems guided by a sense of good fortune and a palpable
gratitude that acknowledges the complexity of the surrounding environment yet still celebrates the
possibility of beauty. This optimism is not naïve, but a deliberate choice — a vital stance in the
face of harsh reality. His aesthetic is generous and exuberant, yet never complacent.
The works gathered in Buenaventura condense a lived experience: forms that cluster and scatter;
layers that build up like an urban palimpsest; and textures that evoke intervened walls, faded tags
and overlapping footprints. The surface becomes a terrain in constant construction: a space
where the present coexists with the past, and where time is revealed through layers of colour.
In this process, Seleka’s paintings are never static. It is a painting of the present, capturing
immediate gestures and channelled energy. His compositions are not closed, overly rationalised
images, but visual intuitions and impulses reflecting an open, curious approach to the world.
There is a deep trust in the creative process — a trust that feels almost childlike, in the best sense
of the word. It is like playing without fear of making mistakes, being completely immersed in the
experience.

Seleka Muñoz comparte una de las primeras obras desarrolladas en nuestro nuevo taller de producción en Lima, un espacio concebido para que los artistas invitados puedan experimentar y desarrollar nuevos cuerpos de trabajo durante sus residencias.

En esta nueva serie, el artista trabaja sobre lino crudo, incorporando una aproximación más contenida y precisa. La ausencia de una preparación sobre la superficie exige un mayor control en cada gesto, haciendo que cada decisión sea irreversible y que la ejecución de la pintura se vuelva considerablemente más compleja. El resultado son obras donde la tensión entre el gesto y el soporte adquiere una nueva profundidad.
