“I might know someone who’d be down to shoot with us,” Samir said.

That someone was Selene - @seleneeos_

She ended up being the bridge between us, translating everything on the go, making it all feel effortless. Fluent English, American accent too, which caught me off guard. Only the second person I met in Medellín who spoke it like that.

We just walked. No plan, no rush , around 3–4 hours, somewhere close to 20k steps by the end of it.

She was easy to be around. Talkative, relaxed, no friction. The kind of presence that makes shooting feel natural.

Samir (@samir_vanegas_ ) was a creator I’d been talking to even before I landed in Medellín. We finally met, went out, and shot some solid stuff together, even though he didn’t speak a word of English.

At some point, it hit me, Spanish alone is enough here. Almost an entire continent runs on it (Brazil aside). If I were her, I probably wouldn’t even bother learning English.

But she did. And it made this whole day work.

Here’s a quick 15-second reel from that day.
