#transformationtuesday Hope you have had a lovely day today. I’m back at my sugarcraft course tomorrow morning and then lunch in the afternoon with some friends who I worked with when I started my first job in 1987. We all worked together until 1996 but continued with our friendships to this day, meeting up 3 or 4 times a year. It’s friendships like these that remind me how lucky I am to have these friends aswell as other close friends 💝 Hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Nicki x by @selfbuild.northwales

Happy Friday 🥂🍾💝 After rain last night, the sun is back out this morning but for how long, I don’t know. Our son has gone to Magaluf this morning for 5 nights, I’m sure he will have a fab time - not sure about me, I don’t think I’ll sleep properly until he’s home 🤣 . He’s 20 in August - the time has just flown! Anyway - windows are still on schedule for fitting Monday onwards - we can’t wait. Rather than a reel on progress, I thought I would show our journey so far in this photo 🤩 Have a lovely weekend whatever your plans 💝 Nicki x by @selfbuild.northwales

#transformationtuesday I’m a little late posting this tonight but I thought I would go all out and do another reel - I’m starting to get the hang of them now 🤣 I’ve tried to fit in our build story so far so I hope you like it 🤩 Hope you are all having a lovely week so far, I’m looking forward to the heatwave we are supposed to be having later this week 🤞😉😎 Nicki x by @selfbuild.northwales

Good morning- I am pleased to be back posting again 💝. Things have been hectic with lots of hospital appointments recently so i decided to take time out to recover. I have my last radiotherapy today and 2 two more lots of immunotherapy and thankfully treatment will then be finished 🎉🍾. I thought i would share a selection of photos today and then follow up with posts in more detail this week. We still have a way to go. We have been building the outside walls and cannot wait to start the patio so we can enjoy this beautiful weather 😎☀️ We will also be starting the guest ensuite bathroom soon, we have gone back to @easybathrooms again as their quality and selection of bathrooms is incredible. I'm looking forward to sharing regular updates as we go.
Have a great week and enjoy the sunshine ☀️🥰 Nicki x by @selfbuild.northwales

Happy Good Friday 💝 I thought I would share two of my favourite things in our kitchen. The first is our Fohen boiling water tap which we love 🤩 No more boiling kettles for hot drinks or pans - instant boiling water. Secondly our sparkling water maker which our kind friends from @the_chester_nester_ bought us. Its an @aarke carbonator and looks so elegant and stylish on our counter top. We use it daily and put the pre made sparkling water in our fridge. We used to buy bottles of sparkling water but this has significantly reduced our plastics recycling so is good for the environment. Now that my hospital appointments are more manageable, I've got lots more time to spend sharing lots of updates on our build. We still have a huge amount of work to do this year but its starting to look more homely now we are moved in. Looking forward to sharing updates this weekend. Have a lovely easter weekend 🐣💝 Nicki x by @selfbuild.northwales

Happy Friday 💝 Although we still have lots to finish inside (and outside 😩) our new home, we are still over the moon with the wood panelling from @wbm_athome We put the oak panels in the open plan kitchen, living and dining room and the grey panels are downstairs with a @blomusofficial smoked glass wall mirror over them. The panels are from @wbm_athome and can be purchased through the link Ive put on the photos. The panels were so easy to put up and make an amazing feature on the walls. You can also see the beautiful table we had made from @merakiwoodcraft_uk We also had a bench made to go with the table - we have put this temporarily in front of the grey panelling downstairs. @merakiwoodcraft_uk make lots of other styles of tables and furniture so it's definitely worth having a look on their page. I'm looking forward to sharing lots more photos and updates over the weekend. Have a lovely weekend. Nicki 💝 by @selfbuild.northwales

Happy Friday 🥰 I thought i would share photos of our son's ensuite bathroom. The cabinets are the Soda furniture range from @easybathrooms . We also got the mirror amd wall tiles from @easybathrooms The wall tiles are the Rhythm white wall tiles which i love 😍 The mirror is an LED smart mirror with shaver socket, demister, clock, date, temperature and bluetooth speakers which you can connect your phone to and play music while you shower 😄 We decided to get one for our ensuite too as they are amazing. The wood effect floor tiles are from @tilegiantofficial and are the Stanton Wood Effect tiles. They are non slip. We also have these in our bathroom but in grey. If you are looking for a bathroom, @easybathrooms have showrooms all over the UK with stunning displays showcasing their bathrooms. Our local showroom is Chester and they have been amazing. The Tabares towel ring and Symons toilet roll holder are from @wayfairuk @wayfair Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Nicki x Ad/pr by @selfbuild.northwales

Happy Tuesday 🥰 I'm back - sorry for the radio silence over last few months. A little update on my Triple Negative Breast Cancer before i start posting updates on our new home again. Its been a stressful and challenging time over the last year in particular the last few months as I was in and out of hospital. I therefore focussed all my energy on getting better so had a break from instagram. I have now finished my chemo and immunotherapy (all 24 doses of different chemos) and had an operation December. I have had the amazing news that all biopsies have shown no signs of cancer from both the area of the lump but also in the nodes they removed. As this type of cancer has a high risk of returning, the immunotherapy has been restarted as research has shown that it hopefully prevents the cancer from returning. I'm just waiting to start the radiotherapy now. We finally moved into our build just before christmas. We still have a list of things that need doing inside aswell as the outside driveway /landscaping plus the rear patio etc. Here are some photos from the open plan kitchen/living room etc - the wood panels are from @wbm_athome and the dining table is from @merakiwoodcraft_uk but I will tag everything else another time and give further details on the panelling and dining table etc Sorry if I have missed any messages. I'll hopefully get round to replying. Nicki 💝 by @selfbuild.northwales

Its good to be back posting, Ive been recovering from my last two chemos and preparing for my op next week 🥰 Our dining table and bench from @merakiwoodcraft_uk are up and we are over the moon with them. The attention to detail and quality is incredible 😍 If you are looking for a dining table/bench or both, its definitely worth speaking to David and Lianne and going to see everything that they make in their workshop in Warrington. They make other furniture which which you can see in their workshop. They can make any size of table /bench and you can personalise every part, starting with the style, shade of oak, leg style/colour etc - everything is completely personal to you. There are tables in the workshop which makes it easier to decide what type you want. We are finally moving in before christmas so I'm looking forward to sharing lots of photos of our new home with you 💝 Nicki x by @selfbuild.northwales

Happy Sunday 💝 Here are some photos of our kitchen from Howdens in Mold. Its the Hockley Mirror Gloss in both Charcoal grey on the full wall of units and Slate Grey Gloss on all base units. Howdens have given me a discount code for you to get 10% off your kitchen at the Mold Branch. Quote 'NICKI10' and pop in to see Amber who can design you your perfect kitchen (T&C's apply - Mold Branch only)

If you are looking for a hot water tap @fohenuk - it's definitely worth you having a look if you are looking for one. Ours is the Fohen Flagro with the knurled handles.

We have ordered our dining table from meraki which will look perfect along side the kitchen. We can't wait to host our first christmas dinner on it this year 😍

Happy Monday 💝 We've had a good weekend at the build and put up the grey slat panels as well as the walk in wardrobes. I'll share the slatted wall panels first: We had originally thought about putting the grey panels up in our master bedroom but realised that it was only Craig and I that would see them, therefore we decided to put them on a wall where everyone could enjoy them, so they have been put in the hallway directly opposite the stairs and lift. 🤩 We've put a @blomusofficial Smoked glass mirror on top and i'm so happy with how it all looks. The panels are a perfect shade of grey and were so easy to put up. We had previously put the Oak slatted panels in our main open plan living/kitchen room and they look incredible too. Ive attached photos of the oak slatted panels on this post but of you wanted to see them, they can be seen on a previous post. The panels are from @wbm_athome I've put a link showing you where they can be purchased. Have a lovely week ahead 💝Nicki x by @selfbuild.northwales

Happy Tuesday 💝 Thought I would re share our lift that we have had put in our new home now that the staircase and carpets are in. I struggle with stairs after various knee operations etc so as this is our forever home, we have made sure the build is fully future proof. Our build is a split level and therefore all the main living rooms /kitchen and bedrooms are all on the first floor. The only rooms downstairs are the garage, hallway and Dylans bedroom. We decided to only have the lift half height on the first floor so it doesn't block the light or the views from the front window 🤩 Enjoy the rest of the week. Nicki x by @selfbuild.northwales
