When I started the process of making these magazines in February, little did I know it would be my favorite project I’ve ever worked on. I’ve learned and taught myself so much about the process of editing, location scouting, and photography in such a short time but it all has completely become my passion. I’m so excited for June, collaborating with new photographers and slowly growing and getting better at what I love! #selfbyself by @selffbyselff

@chanelofficial CRUISE 2026/27 @matthieu_blazy runway debut was absolutely striking. The use of coral and turquoise is a combo I don’t think we see Chanel doing often. The take on 1920s inspired silhouettes and sailor stripes is exactly what we need for European summer. This collection was actually inspired by the seaside town of Biarritz where Gabrielle Chanel had opened her first couture house.

I have been nothing short of impressed with how @matthieu_blazy has preformed as the newly appointed (2024) creative director. 🛟 by @selffbyselff

APRIL 2026

This month, I pulled a ton of inspiration from @themarcjacobs Spring/Summer 2024 runway makeup. In the 2026 film *Marc by Sophia* @sofiacoppola Marc Jacobs shares that many of his ideas stem from the 1960s, drawing influence from films like Sweet Charity especially the “Big Spender” number (slide 5). I immediately got the idea while watching the film to do twiggy inspired makeup for this months shoot, featured in slide 2 & 4. by @selffbyselff

OUR MISSION

I originally started Self by Self as a creative outlet, an extension of my vision through styling and creative direction through an editorial lens. Over time, I realized that the pieces I was most drawn to, both in my everyday wardrobe and on set, were predominantly secondhand or vintage. That sort of sparked a bigger idea for me: the idea for a magazine dedicated to showcasing secondhand designer fashion, proving that luxury can be both sustainable and attainable.
