𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩 brings together more than twenty-five years of work made by photographer Nick Haymes between 2001-2026, assembling an immersive chronicle of life with his partner, Lina, and their two children, Philipp and Lawrence.⁠ ⁠ Approaching family life not as a sentimental saga but as something psychologically charged and contradictory, the photographs move between scenes of children, domestic interiors, bodies in motion, rough play, affection, and moments of tension. Haymes refuses to separate beauty from discomfort: innocence sits alongside recklessness, intimacy alongside unease, as children grow, relationships shift, and bodies change. Featured in her recent book 𝘐 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘒𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘯 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺, these images were taken by Liz Johnson Artur in pirate radio stations across London during the early 2000s.⁠ ⁠ Join us on 15 July for a screening of Johnson Artur's new video work 'Pass the Mic', as part of our MACK Cinema Club programme @icalondon 📌⁠ ⁠ The film documents the evolution of early grime and traces the genre’s formative sites across London, from Deja Vu FM to Rhythm Division.
