For those of you that don’t know, It’s suicide prevention month. I know what it’s like for your mind to become a place you don’t want to be. There were many times and periods in my life where my thoughts became dark and I felt exhausted from fighting the things that other people couldn’t see. And even when I was going to school, practice and work.. that didn’t mean everything inside of me was okay.

After battling mental health issues for basically my entire life, I am SO glad I stayed.

Asking for help does NOT make you weak. Talking about how you’re feelings does NOT make you an “attention seeker”. Taking medication, going to therapy, or telling your friends that you’re simply just not okay can be the thing that gets you through another day.

If someone reaches out to you, please listen. Please don’t push them away because you don’t “know” how to help them. Just listen, be there and offer support in the ways you know how to.

You don’t have to wait till you think you’ve hit “rock bottom” to ask for help. I don’t know what id have done if i didn’t have some pretty amazing people in my life.

You are not alone!!💙💙

What a privilege it is to be apart of HISTORY.

- I came into this tournament with high hopes, and fell short of my goal. In December, I wouldn’t have thought I could even push through to get here. Thank you to my teammates, coaches and family for always believing in me. I couldn’t be more grateful for the support that I have in my corner. 18 women per weight class, 180 to be apart of the first NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championships, and I got to be apart of it. I am so proud of my teammates and everything they have achieved. Time to prepare for u23, see you in Spokane. #sophomoreseason✔️ taken in Coralville, Iowa by @selii.mari
