This is me, Sellvida, is my artistic name. It's supposed to be my given name, which is my grandmother’s name. I’m a visual artist, mainly working in mixed media art. I have loved collecting, recycling, and cutting paper ever since I was at Fine Art College in Sofia, Bulgaria. I’ve been based in London since 2010. This artwork, "Female Warrior," is one of my most powerful pieces. It's a mixed media collage on canvas. Some of the papers for the kimono are handmade paper from @japanhouseldn's shop. My artwork is inspired by the book of Stephen Turnbull, "Samurai Women 1184-1877 (Warrior)." Силвия Георгиева, позната и с артистичното Sellvida, е визуален артист с множество изложби в България и Лондон, който вече над 15 години е нейният втори дом. Израства в художествено семейство, като баща ѝ е Стефан Георгиев – дизайнер на порцеланови изделия, а сестра ѝ Петя Георгиева е графичен дизайнер и автор на порцеланови бижута.

В своите колажи Силвия Георгиева обича да използва различни материали като въглен, мастило, темпера и акрил. Нейните творби са създадени в условията на големия град, забързаното ежедневие и са наситени с цветове, образи и сюжетни композиции.

За нея колажът е игра на пъзел и стимулиращо въображението изкуство, в което всеки може да открие своята картина. В част от творбите на Силвия ще откриете мистиката и културните традиции на далечна Япония, а в други ще усетите урбанистичния привкус на съвременния човек с неговите проблеми и естетика.

Произведения на авторката можете да откриете в концептуално пространство ДОМ от вторник до петък, 11-19 ч.

I was a guest artist at the @mudulondon hat boutique in Richmond at the Hill Rise Summer Festival last weekend. Thank you to my lovely host Anna and her kindness, we always have fun together. Of course, I got a new hat and never received that many compliments. It was a totally improvisation at the last-minute call for me, and I took it, trusting the process and flow of good vibes. I met so many new people who admired my art, and I’m so grateful. Art shows me again; I need to continue my practice, just need the right audience. Woke up before sunrise, running on excitement and barely any sleep. The sky slowly turned gold as the train carried me closer to Paris — quiet moments, headphones on, watching the world wake up outside the window.

Then suddenly… Paris.🚅 @eurostar
Fresh coffee in a tiny café, buttery croissants, streets glowing after the morning rain, and that feeling of walking with no real plan except to experience everything. I wandered through busy little streets, stopped whenever something felt beautiful, and let the city surprise me.
I go to Paris because I of the most extraordinary exhibition of Matisse at the @le_grand_palais. Was absolute blast for me with my favourite Artist artworks, so many and so interesting for me. We saw around 300 artworks of his “second life of his art career”! Totally blew my mind. 💙😎🧑🏻‍🎨🎢
By afternoon, the rain came down hard enough to pause everything. So I sat in a restaurant, watching people rush past while the city slowed down for a moment.

Hours later, exhausted, soaked, happy, and completely in love with the day, I caught the train home with tired feet and a full heart.

Happy Children’s Day! Slide ➡️ 👉🏻🎈🎈🎈

Me Sisi aka Sellvida as my artist name. Growing up in Bulgaria, 1 June was always a special celebration. In this photo, you can see me at nine years old, dressed as a Monchhichi character for a school performance at 51st School “Vasil Demirevski” in Sofia, Bulgaria, as it was known at the time.
