Almost 30 years ago, my parents and their siblings separately left their home country and their tiny village in Montenegro, leaving behind everything they knew, with nothing but the hope of building a better future for us.

With no immediate family, no friends, no money, and a language they couldn’t speak, they left their parents and their home.

As life took our families across different parts of Europe, home became something we’ve always carried in our hearts, no matter how far away we were.

Today, I have the privilege of representing that very home, our roots, our pride, and our love for our country on the national team of Montenegro.

Seeing our families come together, so far away from home, to support me and share our pride for our country means more than many of you could ever understand or even imagine.

All their sacrifices made so much possible.

For the country where my roots were planted, and the family that gave me this life. 🇲🇪🫶🏼
