@labagatelle.dk is made possible by my tiny team of brilliant people with very busy hands and warm hearts. Every shirt is tailor made in Copenhagen and except for when I do the pick up at the tailors in my Defender, everything is picked up on bike and taken to the Studio on Værnedamsvej where it is ironed, steamed and packed and shipped off with love.
Every little details matters greatly and I have come to realize just how much of a control freak I really am. No standards are ever lowered. That is the whole point of La Bagatelle.
So when I got to do jeans it was the same, they had to be made in Japan in Japanese Selvedge because it is the only real way of doing denim, and they had to be perfect. But how to tell that story? It had to be personal and it had to hold the magic of @labagatelle.dk The most dreamy idea I could come up with was photographing them on @selmasalomes at the totally wonderful place outside of Seville on @georgescottrides estate where she works. I have known Selma she was little, and I have seen her grow into the wonder of a woman that she is today. Fiercely brilliant with the horses who are so devoted to her, they follow her around like big cats. She might have a Bachelor in Biology but she speaks horses. And I am so grateful I got to witness her there with my tiny team of helpers: my daughters @ines.malling who did hair and makeup, and @barbara.malling who ran the production and photographer @emilieholm who’s eye caught it all, captured Selma and made her eternal. Thank you all, it was an experience I will cherish always♥️♥️♥️♥️ by @selmasalomes

Rosa og Johannes på deres båd Balou, som de selv maler, sliber, giver træet olie og reparerer moteren når der er brug det. De verdens skønneste mennesker!

Morgentur med Bob ude i tisvilde hegn. Jeg syntes det er en af Danmarks smukkeste skove. Især når Bob løber rundt fri i den.

Elefanten i rummet af @talr.artist på Millesgården i Stockholm. Hvor ville det være dejligt hvis der stod en lyserød elefant mellem alle usagte ting mellem mennesker.

Smuk gips skulptur af Carl Milles

Figurer lavet af Carl Eldhs i hans atelier. Væggene er malet grå blå med et kæmpe lysindfald fra loftet.

Havørne malet i loftet på Thielska galleriet af Bruno Liljefors. Jeg elsker fugle og syntes det smukt de malet i loftet.

Min ynglings forfatter og en af de få bøger jeg stadig ikke har læst af ham. Jeg glæder mig til at læse den.

Frikke som jeg elsker højt og altid besøger i hendes butik når jeg er i København. Vi snakker om alt mellem himmel og jord og hendes tid i ørknen.

Lilli og Alfred til middag. Jeg har været sammen med dem nærmest hele sommeren.

Ude og ride med @rosemarieheering og altid lade hestene græsse.

Bob på stranden lige inden det begyndte at regne.

På vej hjem fra middag med Tippie. Det både regnede, blæste helt vildt og solen skinnede. Der kom en fantastisk smuk regnbue lige over os.

Lilli der altid er ubeslutsom og derfor vælger to smage af krymmel. Det gør hun næsten altid.

Bob foran pejsen i stuen. Der ligger han altid og holder øje med at alle er hjemme og har det godt. by @selmasalomes

A summer in between my two homes 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵 visiting old horses, training young ones. Always with friends and family around. Biking everywhere and swimming in the sea. Life is beautiful by @selmasalomes

From the landscapes of Sierra Morena, Spain - Selma shows how scent follows the rhythm of a life spent outdoors.

In a place where days revolve around horses and being outside, essential oils are as much practical tools as they are personal rituals. Selma uses rosemary and tea tree around the stables, and directly on the horses’ manes and forelocks, to help keep flies away from both the horses and the tack room.

For own use she mixes jojoba oil with Franks rosemary, sweet orange and bergamot. Then it all goes in her hair to keep it from drying out in the sun.
