Believe it or not, Stockholm-based brand @selor.eu started as a class project for founder Selina Lin Andersson. Tasked by her teacher to conceptualize her own company, Selina honed her love of designing mood boards (mostly stemming from the One Direction fan account she ran as a tween) to create Selór with her business partner and classmate Viktor Kardvik (the “or” of “Selór”). “In Sweden, they don’t have the cutest hair clips,” she says. “He and I were talking after high school, and we’re like, ‘Should we make this actually a real business?’” And at 21-years-old each, they’re filling the gap in the Swedish market. 🤝They funded the brand with money they saved up, but Selina credits her mother, who sold accessories in Taiwan (where she’s originally from), as a huge help when starting the brand because she knew the business well and could guide Selina through the brand-building process. Selina designs everything in Sweden, then manufactures the clips in China with acid-free materials. She started experimenting with biodegradable acetate, too, to make Selór more environmentally-friendly as the business grows. When they started in 2021, they received only one order per month, while now, they fulfill over 100 orders, making them more conscious of their environmental impact. 🫶Selór focuses on versatile designs at affordable prices: “Everything that goes with anything, so something you can just throw on and will match with your outfit.” Selina’s favorite right now is the Rose in Walnut for just that reason. As she puts it, “I want our customers to feel confident and comfortable in something they can use in their everyday life.” 👏🥰 by @selor.eu
