I (almost) forgot what was The whole point.

Today I had to stop the race due a mechanical problem and I was mad, angry, frustrated, sad, very sad, upset, I wanted to cry, to scream to yell at the world all my problems.

And then I was driving the car back home and I realized how lucky I am to call “problems” not being able to fight for the victory in a bike race.

Me of last October would have just dreamt about calling “problems” not getting the wanted result in a bike race.

I did risked my own life.
In October, November, December, January my only wish was having a working heart again after the myocarditis and having back a healthy body to have a good normal life.
I wasn’t even thinking about being able to be back racing as a priority.
When you “touch the death” from close all your vision of the priority in life changes.

And now how can I be so pissed for a bike race?

The October’s Francesca would have put her sign on “your biggest worry is going to be fight for the position for a sprint and eventually not having the result you want”.

So now I take a deep breath, and I look back and I tell myself you’re lucky you’re still in this world, and as you didn’t even hoped for.. you’re also back to racing with your bike in the pro peloton.

That’s all what the whole point was about.

I did start a vlog “from zero to America” to remind myself in days like today to look back at the first weeks.. when I was restarting to ride.. when I was still scared to die, to use my heart in the wrong way.
Now I tell myself : Look how far you’ve come.
You packed your stuff and flew to America alone to get out of the Drawer one of the biggest dreams you were keep postponing.
You told yourself “if they tell me I can get back on my bike.. no matter what and in which shape but I’m going to race crits in America”.
And guess what? You’re doing it.
