POSTS STORIES REELS

I was over at SPH Media for an event interview a couple of months ago, and by a stroke of luck I bumped into these radio legends at the common area at the same time.

Little would I have imagined that these 3 would reunite in the form of The BIG Show on Kiss92 starting today, 2 Nov.

As a huge radio fan, these are the voices I grew up with, and proud to call my colleagues when I later joined Mediacorp Symphony 924, and explored the fascinating world of Radio for a good number of years.

Today, we share the local airwaves on the exact morning timebelt of weekdays 6 -10am, and while they're on The BIG Show on Kiss92, I'm on a not-so-BIG show on another frequency, on BE107FM.

The radio landscape may be vastly different today, but memories of the good ol' days of radio back in the day will always remain for me. 📻

Thank you @glennn, @officialtimoh and @iamcarriechong for being an inspiration all these years, and best wishes for this new chapter on @kiss92fm. ❤️

💍✨ 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘆!

You can have your 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱-𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲, your carefully planned schedule and every little detail mapped out but weddings have a funny way of throwing in a few surprises! 😆💍

In this episode of 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦, we talk about those 𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀, 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 that can happen along the way and why they don’t necessarily have to ruin your big day.

Because sometimes, the moments that weren’t on the schedule end up becoming the 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲. ❤️✨

In this episode of 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦, we talk about why 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆 can be such an important part of your big day — capturing not just how everything looked, but the 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 that made it truly yours.

Over the weekend, I was assigned 3 weddings to play for - they weren't just regular wedding shows, but:

All 3 were instrumental;
All 3 were of different combinations;
All 3 required me to learn a whole string of songs for each show, which is quite rare; and
They were consecutive - there were no other shows with singer/s in-between

In all my years of making music at weddings I don't think I've had a lineup as coincidental, unique and challenging as this, hence I'm penning this down for memory.

At these 3 shows, I made one new friend, reconnected with two old friends and caught up with one friend whom I haven't seen in years.

We had the most lovely chats during our set breaks at each of these shows, providing much relief to what I felt was an unusually stressful weekend.

With so many moving parts on the big day, it’s easy for couples to pack their wedding timeline from morning to night without leaving much room to breathe. But those little pockets of downtime can make all the difference. 🤍

In this episode of 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦, we explore why building buffer time into your wedding timeline is so important – and how a wedding planner can help make sure the day flows smoothly without leaving you feeling overwhelmed or completely burnt out.

Because amidst the photos, ceremonies, speeches and celebrations, don’t forget to leave some time to simply breathe, soak it all in, and be present with each other. 🥂

From understanding the flow of your wedding day to anticipating the moments that matter, a great wedding videographer is involved in the timeline more than you realise.

They’re thinking about the right angles, positioning, lighting and timing – while making sure the moments captured still feel natural and true to you. Because the best wedding films aren’t manufactured – they’re thoughtfully guided, beautifully observed, and filled with moments that genuinely happened. 🤍

In this episode of 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦, we take a closer look at what your videographer is really doing behind the scenes – and how they help turn your wedding day into a film you’ll want to relive for years to come.

At a funeral show exactly a fortnight ago, Robert decided to do an instrumental piano solo number along with a backing track.

He chose 只是太愛你 by 張敬軒 Hins Cheung – a song I fell in love with in recent years.

I’ve heard this song many times, but as someone who performs at weddings, I’ve never got to play it – simply because we don’t (and can’t) do sad songs at celebrations and happy occasions.

But this was different.

Somewhere in the middle of the song, I instinctively decided I’d join Rob for this instrumental number – even though I’ve never done it before, and I did not have any score.

Without much thought or hesitation on whether I could fully recall the melody for this song, I picked up my violin, and simply played along.

For some reason, my fingers magically knew exactly which notes to press.

I closed my eyes, and the next thing I knew, I was on autopilot – playing the song like I’ve done so for years.

I played every note with all my heart, while the lyrics of this beautiful song ran in my head with every passing line.

This was at an HDB void deck along West Coast Drive on an early Sunday morning, and the reverb rang through the entire long void deck – something I’ve not experienced before.

Somewhere in the middle of the song, I started crying. I know you can’t quite tell from this video, but tears were spilling from my eyes, and I tried my absolute best to hold them back.

It was extremely hard, as I had lost my very own grandma just two weeks before this show, and here I was again, at yet another wake.

2026 has been a very difficult year for me, but I’m glad to have been given the opportunity to express my pain, sadness and grief – through the music I make.

Thank you @abbylaikahei for capturing this precious moment, and to @candidcam for choosing this song and for performing it with me.

Thank you @alvinkyc for the opportunity for this, through @funeralliveband.

I hope you will enjoy this short clip as much as I do. ❤️

因為我不知道下一輩子
還是否能遇見你
所以我今生才會
那麼努力把最好的給你
愛你都變成傷害你
我們的愛快要窒息
不是故意只是太愛你

In this episode of 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦, we chat with Peiyi from @pei.weddings about how couples can work closely with their wedding planner, including setting up a dedicated group chat, asking questions freely, and keeping communication clear from planning right through to the big day.

Because when everyone is on the same page, you can spend less time worrying about the details – and more time enjoying every moment. ✨
