Lead vocalist and guitarist Jorgie Santopoalo sings as the rest of the LARGEMOUTH band play behind in Rockton, Ill., on Sept. 13, 2026.

Jeremy Abacra reflects on earning money to purchase his first guitar: “People would drive by all the time and I’d be like, ‘hey, do you want to hear a song called “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana and donate to us so I can get a bass guitar?’”

Oliver Mendoza, percussionist, rests after performing during rehearsal on Sept. 13, 2026 in Rockton, Ill.

LARGEMOUTH rehearsals a week away from appearing at Riot Fest. Every weekend, the band runs the set three times a day.

Diangelo Esquivel restrings his guitar on Sept. 13, 2026, in Rockton, Ill.

Ollie Santopoalo, drummer and youngest member of the band, sits at the drums ready for the band’s second rehearsal on Sept. 13, 2026 in Rockton, Ill. Since an early age, Ollie has always been “quick with his hands,” as shared by his father, and naturally grew accustomed to playing the drums. by @semaj.jpeg
