26 turns around the sun ✨

snippets of my life replay behind my eyelids, a kaleidoscope of memories and feelings.

i remember the warmth of the sun on my face as i played in the grass as a little girl. i remember the turbulence and magic that is adolescence. i remember the laughter i shared with friends. i remember the feeling of sitting in my mothers lap, her fingers running through my hair. i remember discovering new art and literature and old castles and feeling awe at how humanity creates beautiful things despite the darkness that shrouds us at times.

it all runs through my mind and i feel so overwhelmingly grateful to be alive and surrounded by so much love. by @sempiternalreads

in a way, we are our own ghosts. when we delve into our memories, we become a specter watching through the crack of a doorway, peering at some past version of ourselves. and these old phases of what we once were haunt us in turn. invisibly guiding our hands and pouring cautionary tales into our ears.
