On an evening before October the 24th, I sat at a table in my humble prayer, considering many great mysteries, till somebody in an unusual manner touched me on the back; whereupon I looked back, and behold it was a fair and glorious lady, whose garments were all sky-coloured, and curiously bespangled with golden stars; in her right hand she bore a trumpet of beaten gold. In her left hand she had a great bundle of letters of all languages. She turned her letters over and over, and at length drew out a small one, which with great reverence she laid down upon the table, and without giving one word, departed from me.

I went to the letter, which was now so heavy, that had it been mere gold it could hardly have been so weighty. I tenderly opened the letter, and within it found the following verses written.

This day, today
Is the Royal Wedding day.
For this thou wast born
Thou mayest go to the mountain
Whereon three temples stand,
And see there this affair.
Keep watch
Inspect thyself
Let him beware who is too light.

...in late October, they say, the boundary grows thin between the world we know and that world of the spirits that lies beyond. Having been driven mad through our ceaseless search for records, we here at Body Contact intend to pierce this veil with the awesome power of dance music on the night of the 23rd. If you are brave of heart and bold of spirit, come join us as we attempt to open a portal to the Otherworld in the basement of The Rigby.

Joining us on our supernatural quest is Madison’s own Paul Gordon! For those of you who don’t know the man/myth/legend, Paul is an elite Madison slinger of vinyl-forward midwestern dance music who brings an eclectic, psychedelic, bass-heavy, always-groovy approach to house and techno. Paul’s been a supporter of the party from day one, so we’re super excited to finally have him play with us! We can’t wait to see what sort of black technomagic Paul’s gonna conjure.

Come, friends, and journey into the mystic with us.

(This is a Halloween party! Costumes encouraged, not required. Best music-related costume wins... something. We haven’t decided what yet.)

Tickets are $10 on Resident Advisor or at the door! taken in The Rigby by @senatorgordon

Anti B is back to Gibs with Deep House and House music, playing with one of the greatest house djs in Madison, Paul Gordon. October 9th from 9pm-1am.

Paul Gordon is from Madison, WI and specializes in underground house and techno. Paul brings an eclectic blend of music, woven together through basslines, off-kilter percussion, and a hearty dose of dance-floor fun. For our special night upstairs at Gib’s, expect a vinyl set of deep house gems, understated groove, and enough bounce to get off the couch if you so prefer. Cheers!

Last year at the end of August, we threw a little all-vinyl showcase at The Goose, and it was way too much fun not to do it again.

This year we’ve got:

Paul Gordon coming down from Madison with a bag full of classic house & techno.

Saladspinner — our local farmer favorite, digging through the crates.

Hoax. — who delivers an absolute masterclass in DJing every time he touches the decks.

And Pagliaro, playing back some favorites from the collection.

Four selectors. All vinyl. All night.

And of course, it’ll all be playing through our Danley Sound Labs system, what we’re pretty confident is the best sounding room in town, and probably for a few hundred miles beyond it.

Good records deserve a good sound system.

So many memories from Musiqué Electronique!!! So thankful to have a crew like @remaininnight in Madison to make it all happen. Special shouts to @prognition the mastermind, @wangzoom and @paradoxofperils for the killer lighting and stage design, and @living.presentleigh for designing most of the hanging deco and killing it. Also @jaredprez and @kim.nyx for building some of the freakiest grooviest rave decorations of all time. So thankful to be able to help out alongside all of these amazing creative minds. Can’t forget my goat @moorhaus_ with the unplanned extended b2b, legendary performance 🫡

The party train rolls westward to somewhere in Minnesota next weekend, stepping just outside the space time continuum for 3 days (???) on the farm. Excited to be back in action at The Great Beyond from 7:30a-8:30a on Saturday. See you on the dance floor!!! by @senatorgordon
