I created this account just 2 months ago, with the hopes of expanding my small town golf world. Now here I am, submitting an official application to become a @golfvancouverisland fall ambassador. 🤝

I love this Island, and would be so grateful for the opportunity to show off the world class beauty it holds. ✨

These are my non-negotiables:

1. Cut the negative self-talk. It’s BS, and we need to break the cycle. Be the friend who shuts down the “I’m going to chunk this” comments before the swing even happens.

2. Put in the work to build YOUR golf community. Invite the friend who’s curious, join the women’s league, ask for phone numbers. The more women who show up, the more fun the game becomes for everyone.

3. Stop apologizing for your bad shots. Golf is literally a game of mistakes. No one expects perfection, and no one is keeping score of your apologies.

4. Book the solo tee time. Especially if you’re a beginner. Most people are way more welcoming than you think, and by the fourth hole, the retired guys in your group will probably be celebrating your good shots louder than you are.

5. Take care of the course, hype up great shots, laugh off the bad ones, fix your pitch marks (and others for good measure), fill your divots, and leave the course better than you found it.
Good golf culture is respected more than a low handicap.

Okay, this one hit me hard.

I was paired with a retired couple and, in my head, I was doing what I always do… wishing I had started golf younger.

Because if I’d started at 20, imagine how good I could be by now.

Then they said:

“You’re so lucky to have started so young.”

I’m 38. 😂

And honestly, it kind of messed with my perspective.

To me, I’m late.

To them, I have so many good years ahead of me.

It made me realize how often we look at what we should have done instead of appreciating what we’re lucky enough to be doing now.

So yeah… maybe I wish I started golf sooner.

But I’m also pretty damn lucky I started at all. 🏌️‍♀️

There’s a good chance 60-year-old me is going to wish I could be 38-year-old me, hacking my way around the golf course.

And THAT is the perspective I want to keep. by @senditsarah_golf

Your girls had their first scramble tournament this weekend! It was an awesome event, held at @highlandpacificgolf by the @lpgaamateurslmbc 🌞 our team was a blast, the course was pristine, and the vibes were high!

We stopped at @golftown on our way after hearing from @clubtwirlswiththegirls there were sales ~ so of course we’re matching in @travismathewwomens 💞

It was a really fun, really windy round and @senditsarah_golf got the KP 🏆 and as always, a snack at the cafe after hit the spot. So great to meet & play with you @oliviasabnal 🫶🏽

Thanks for having us - we can’t wait for more events!
