Thinking about this drawing I sold around this time last year… (thank you to the keeper of this drawing if you see this!🌟) Not a whole lot of words can describe it. “Space” (Dec 2025) was designed in the presence of fire and drawn using a byproduct of fire- burnt wood logs. It is currently on display at the Octagon gallery in Ames until March 14th, 2026 thanks to the juror Allison Sheridan‼️ Happy birthday @octagon_arts too 🎉 Swipe through for pics, a clip of the gallery, and a progress video. To explain the drawing process- brief ambidextrous movements holding burnt wood chunks revealed an eye, what a surprise… disappearing eyes reappeared to console the soul during those occasional everlasting moments of dread when no one is right there to care.

Then, the eye led me to draw a face. Wow. This is the face that remained when there was nothing left to describe. The face eventually formed into the place that remains in the absence of everything- that abyssal realm of depth behind our eyes. The unforgettable place concealed by our face and mind, something beyond human perception. May those who are remembered by this upon demise be forever blessed in the gray skies.

Then, the drawings were sealed with a fixative spray and glued on foam board with my graciously burning passion for continuing to live & learn on about everything fucked up that currently happening/has already happened in this disgustingly dystopian hellscape called the United States.

The triptych is held together with fishing line, just as the face holds many feelings, such as: the bittersweet connection found through loss, the comforting decay of solitude, the agonizing pain of masking the terribility of it all, and a foggy hope for a future filled with beautiful justice.

I finished preparing Space with an empty fireplace, the support of loved ones, and a wavering sense of hope to finish it by the submission deadline. Thanks for reading and best of luck with our carrying on🖤🪵🔥 by @seneflay

I lost many years of being myself to survive
In a faceless body they wanted to claim
Some went as far to try and take my mind
But my spirit, they could never obtain

So no, I’m not a bitch
I’m a glitch in your reality
I am incapable of being fabricated into false worlds that spew shit aborally in an attempt to avoid the truth of this war-ridden earthly experience… or even worse, fuel it.

I tug on the stitches of fantasy so I can time and time again be pulled apart at the seams by blinking love, melting hugs, bubblegum skies, gentle lullabies; all to forget for a moment, our impending demise.

… But the More To See will always remain… pushing us forward like a graffiti-covered cargo train on a cracked, expired track- shipping us out towards foggy gray skies with a treacherous potential to bring us closer to wise.

A World of Contrast Art Show
~
Some pics of my art show at CASA gallery. All of this art here was created by me. Many pieces now belong to family and friends. Thank you for all of the love and support, both in real life and through the screen! I’ve been creating art on-and-off since I was a kid, but most consistently the past 5 years. In February 2024 I began to put together all of my art and realized how much I’ve been keeping to myself. I feel grateful to have shared and seen so many of my creations displayed in April 2025. This was a strenuous endeavor; I couldn’t have done it without the kindness of those around me. Even during times I’m not as active on social media, I’m still here creating, connecting, and cherishing moments as much as possible in a world like this.
Together we can create hope…💙🦋🖤🥀
