Hey I’m Senna, an occupational therapist in Denver, Colorado!

Since I’m new here, I figured I should introduce myself.💛

I’m Senna. I’m a licensed pediatric occupational
therapist in Colorado. I work with kids to help
them build the skills they need to play, learn,
and navigate their world.

But this work is personal for me in a way most
people don’t know.

I received OT and speech services as a kid growing up in Olympia, Washington. I didn’t fully understand what those therapists were doing at the time — but looking back, they changed the trajectory of my life.

That experience, combined with seeing the enormous need for therapy services in countries like Uganda and spending a year at Jill’s House working with children with special needs, led me to become an OT myself.

I went from Azusa Pacific to a fellowship at Jill’s
House to grad school at Messiah University in
Pennsylvania — and every stop brought me closer to the work I do now.

A few other things about me: I sometimes cry when I see puppies, I bike up Lookout Mountain for fun(questionable judgment), I’ve poured way too many hours into being an aggressively mid pickleball player, and my drink order is an iced maple latte year-round.

I’m here to share what I know about pediatric OT,
connect with parents and therapists, and build
something that I think is going to change how
families access therapy.

If you’re reading this, there’s a chance you’ve been carrying a quiet worry about your child for a while now.

Maybe it’s the way they hold their pencil. Maybe it’s the meltdowns that seem bigger than the moment. Maybe it’s the feeling that something is just...harder for them than it should be.

And maybe you’ve been told “they’ll grow out of it” or “every kid develops at their own pace” — which is true, but it doesn’t make your concern less valid.

Here’s what I want you to know as a pediatric OT:

If you’re wondering whether your child needs an
evaluation, that question alone is reason enough
to explore it.

An evaluation isn’t a diagnosis. It isn’t a label.
It’s information. It’s a clearer picture of your
child — their strengths, their challenges, and
what support could look like.

This carousel breaks down the signs by age range, what happens at an evaluation, and what comes after. I wrote it because I’ve seen too many parents wait months or years out of uncertainty — and I don’t want that to be you.

I’m Senna, a pediatric OT, and I’ve seen too many families wait months while their kids miss out on support they need right now. So I built ViaThera.

ViaThera connects families directly with licensed OTs, PTs, and SLPs for in-home, community, and telehealth sessions (ages 0–21). You choose your therapist and part of every session goes toward expanding therapy access for kids around the world.

While everyone else sees a cute robot game 🤖

An OT brain sees a full therapy session:

✔️ Turn-taking
✔️ Pincer grasp
✔️ Planning & sequencing
✔️ Spatial awareness
✔️ Frustration tolerance (because losing a turn is HARD)

This is why play is so powerful. Kids build real skills without even realizing they’re working 💛
