After years of keeping the lady in storage my friend Andres asked me to get her out to play his intricate original compositions at a Gallery around the corner of my house. We did some rehearsals in the park. Naima was involved too. Thank you to everyone who came out and to Nelia for sharing these impressions from the night. They say sax is best with the EX. While sitting in the woods, working on these meditation modalities and even recording them was calming, soothing maybe even healing. posting them on social media has become quite the opposite. Checking view count and hoping to have some sort of conversation in this space is eating my soul. Instead of creating human connection I get bombarded with spiritual influencer rage bait and end of the world drivel. Went to a Luddite meeting yesterday. Mostly kids in their 20’s with great ideas, hope and positivity. I’m feeling drained and useless. Where is that place where community has not been turned into a subscription model to serve our AI overlords as a data base for modeling their baby vaporizers? I want to know. But probably I have to look for the answer in a different place. I say keep dreaming and stay creative, but my dreams are mostly nightmares and my creativity feels like cultural appropriation. My Funny Valentine - Trying to stay motivated to keep Recording These, but have to admit that posting them here and hoping for attention seems to be a bad idea.
When I sit in the park, I get nice feedback from real people. Once I post them and start looking at the view counts and likes, I feel like I’m wasting my time.

“Would you come over and play for our pet rats funeral?” I sure would. They adopted “Tweak” who was blind on one eye about a week ago and kept him company on his way out. Good kids. Honored to make my humble contribution to this solemn occasion.
