We are hiring in the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR)!

Two positions are available:
1. Open Rank Faculty Member in Waterfowl Ecology and Wetlands Management (deadline to apply 11/16)

Full-time 9-month tenure-track appointment with responsibilities distributed as described across research, teaching and service. The successful candidate will teach approximately 2 undergraduate or graduate courses per year, primarily in waterfowl and wetlands ecology, wildlife population management, and experiential learning courses.

2. Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Urban Forestry (deadline to apply 11/30)

We welcome applicants with expertise in urban forestry, including community and municipal forestry, urban forest planning and management, arboriculture, tree health and risk assessment, urban ecosystem services, green infrastructure, and the role of trees and greenspaces in supporting healthy, sustainable communities. The successful candidate is expected to teach approximately three courses per academic year (two courses to be developed, and one existing course).

Attending a career fair can sometimes feel overwhelming, we get it!

Here are some useful tips to help you get ready for the @osucfaes Career Fair happening Thursday, October 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fawcett Center:
1. Spend some time ahead of the fair doing a bit of research.
Ahead of the fair review the list of registered employers on Handshake, and do a little research on the ones who interest you the most.
2. Prepare an introduction.
Prepare a 30-second introduction (or “elevator pitch”) to introduce yourself to employers.
3. Have copies of your resume ready.
Print out several copies of your resume (enough for each employer you would like to talk to plus a few more) and bring them to the career fair.
4. Consider going with a friend!
You may find it easier to approach a table with another person, and together you can tag-team the conversation.

❗️The CFAES Career Fair is this Thursday, October 1st from 1-5p in the Fawcett Center on campus! Picking an outfit to wear to the career fair does not have to be complicated—we’re giving all of the outfits in this video a 10/10!

Come confident and comfy! Dress code expectations for the CFAES Career Fair are relatively relaxed. We suggest wearing an elevated casual / business casual outfit that is comfortable, appropriate, and doesn’t distract from what matters most: connecting with employers. Other examples could include khakis and a button-up/polo or slacks and a sweater.

See you at the Fawcett Center on Thursday! Free parking will be available or you can take the free shuttle from the Midwest Campus bus stop. More details on Handshake 🤝 by @senratosu

SENR in Action at Farm Science Review!

The School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR) staff and faculty had a busy week presenting, tabling, and attending #FSR26. Thanks to all who came out despite the rainy weather and muddy conditions to learn from experts!
