TILES · First Edition is now available.
After months of dreaming, prototyping, and refining, we’re excited to finally open pre-orders for our first product.
TILES is an expressive MIDI controller designed to make digital music feel physical through touch, pressure, and localized haptic feedback.

This is a limited production release built alongside our earliest supporters.

Pre-orders are now live at sentiainstruments.com

We built TILES because we wanted to bring physicality back to digital music.

This Saturday, TILES makes its world debut at @tedxatlanta

I’ll be closing the Saturday program with a performance played entirely on the instrument we’ve spent the last year building at @sentiainstruments

Very proud of this one.

CREATE-X Demo Day wrapped up a huge summer for SENTIA.

We got TILES into a lot of new hands, heard some great reactions, and had really promising conversations with investors, customers, and future partners.

Very excited for what comes next.

This week we got to step away from the workbench for a bit and talk about SENTIA, where it came from, and how research around accessibility still shapes the way we think about musical instruments.
Really good to spend some time around other founders, share what we’re working on, and hear what everyone else is building too.
Thanks @silhouetteatlanta for having us.

Of course it connects to your modular.

We built CV/Gate and expression connectivity directly into every unit of TILES because musical expression shouldn’t stop at MIDI.

Comment TILES if you’d like us to break down this schematic and show how it works ;)

To kick off our student highlight series, we have Matias (Mats) Cevallos, who recently graduated from our Master of Science in Music Technology program!

Originally from Ecuador, Mats began studying classical piano at the age of six before pursuing undergraduate studies in music composition and jazz piano. Along the way, Mats also built a computer science foundation, always with one goal in mind. "I've always wanted to study music technology even before I knew what it was. I just wanted to do something that merged music and technology."

At Georgia Tech, that vision evolved into the design of a new musical interface that combines expressive performance with accessibility. Mats developed a prototype featuring polyphonic haptic feedback, allowing performers to feel individual tactile responses from each key. "The idea became, 'How can we build something that bridges the gap between acoustic instruments and digital interfaces?'"

That prototype has since grown into Sentia Instruments, a startup accelerated through Georgia Tech's CREATE-X program. After refining the design and building a team, Mats launched pre-orders for the company's first instrument this summer.

Looking back, Mats credits Georgia Tech's collaborative environment for shaping the journey. "Being in a group that's always moving so fast and doing incredible stuff helped a lot to get myself going as well."

For incoming Music Technology students, the advice is reassuring: "Everyone comes from different backgrounds, and that's what makes the program special. Everyone brings different strengths."

We had a wonderful time at CREATE-X Preview Day. Thanks to everyone who stopped by, played TILES, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their excitement with us. It was great meeting so many founders, mentors, and supporters.

Thank you CREATE-X for bringing us all together.
