Have you ever felt like you weren't the main character in your life, but rather a great support character for someone you love and respect?

I lived that life too... being able to support my husband was rewarding in it's own way, and we definitely had lots of fun. But at some point being so close to the spotlight inspired me to be greater. I wrote my own original songs for years, but felt like I wasn't really taking any steps forward. Between the support of @galaxystationevent pushing me to share my singing live on stage last year in Poland, to finally taking it in front of my intended audience with @creatorcollege_ and @sephihakubi I feel like I am finally making moves.

We can have our own main character story, so follow along on this journey. taken in Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel & Convention Center by @sephihakubi

I came back to #SanAntonio at just the right time as yesterday, @amehakubi and I got to go to my favorite event of the season, the @otakufoodfestival! Still delicious as always. It’s still going on today too so if you’re in town, go check it out.
Today though, I’m flying back to Tampa but taking Ame with me this time and taking the week to prepare for @miraiconfl in Coral Springs! See you all soon my Florida Stars!

People! Never ever take what you have for granted. Throughout my entire 20-year career in the anime and rave industry, I have never worked with an anime convention like @kawaconsa, who not only took care of their guests, staff, artists, and vendors very well, but they did more than any con I know about giving the fans what they want and respecting the anime community. I wanted Kawacon to succeed so bad that my family and I as guests volunteered for the con until we were integrated as staff and us together developed and brought you San Antonio’s greatest anime rave of all time: Kawadansu. We all understood the assignment. We weren’t chasing flavors of the week, slapping together cookie-cutter events or jumping on trends, we were setting the trends that left people talking about Kawadansu for days, weeks, months, and I believe even years. We didn’t just play club EDM like many other “anime raves” out there, we mixed real AnimEDM songs and sounds in ways that you could only hear in a place like @mograstaff. We’ve built memories, friendships, and families. We’ve birthed our next generation; we’ve honored our fallen (RIP @kaos_the_spacecadet). We have shined a bright light and given hope to our fans. Now that candle has gone out, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep the light on. Stars, please support your friends and businesses that are doing their best and doing right by you, things may end up not be the best and right without you.

Thank you Kawacon for the best 5 years of our lives. Thank you to all the DJs that got to be a part of Kawadansu: @sebriskiba, @dj_tynam0, @scorpionofficiall, @choroyama, @ghostdata_, and @gilbertcarrizalesofficial. Thanks to @crescentlensvisuals for these amazing photos. Thanks to @amehakubi for helping me make this baby with me and setting the standard for anime convention raves, the Kawacon staff for giving us the chance to give our fans a real AnimEDM experience, and of course our fans who showed up making no excuses to be a part of anime rave history. There will NEVER be another anime con like Kawacon and there will NEVER be another rave like Kawadansu. Love always! Sayonara.

NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT: When I was a young teen finding out where this natural-born anomaly could fit in, I’d learn there are two things about me that are constant, my love for anime and rave. Before attending @kawaiikonofficial in 2006, my first anime convention in Hawaii, before becoming a DJ, before my first rave, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the anime industry in some way and I wanted to someday dance my first floor to Trance after listening to Party 93.1 FM every night. In my 20 year career of being a DJ, I have played all over the world from Honolulu to San Antonio to Seattle to Cincinnati, to Oklahoma City, to Dallas, to Warsaw and even Miami…but never in my hometown of Coral Springs. Now I will soon say that FINALLY! The Otaku Chief…HAS COME BACK…Home! Stars, I am happy to announce that I will be DJing in my hometown for the Mirai Con rave on Saturday night. This will also mark my first major performance after my departure from San Antonio and start the new book of the Sephi Hakubi saga. All the thanks possible to @calibrate.industries, @kittypopevents, and @miraiconfl for bringing me home. @amehakubi and I are excited to bring the Stars real AnimEDM with our fellow DJs. Many times Ame and I have made history, but this time it’s those at Miraicon who has made history for us; we absolutely appreciate it and we hope you Stars can celebrate with us. See you soon. 💜 #AnimEDM #anime #rave #Miraicon #Florida taken in Fort Lauderdale Marriott Coral Springs Hotel & Convention Center by @sephihakubi

I have stayed quiet for too long. Stars it’s about time we talked. Join me right here on Instagram on Monday at 8PM Eastern / 7PM Central as we catch up to what your Otaku Chief had been up to now that I have moved back to Florida after 15 very long years. I’ve been taking some time settling in the new home but as diligent as we’ve all been making this move, I miss my Nightkids so much! Tune in to my Instagram Live @sephihakubi on Monday at 8PM Eastern and Ask Me Anything (so long as it doesn’t put you in Meta jail…let alone real jail 🤣). Let’s catch up Stars!

Last Saturday was my ‘final’ appearance in #SanAntonio before I move to #Tampa, supporting the lovely and talented #kaigaiidols at the @kokoroidolsevents Summer Festival. I recently started working with them only a couple of years ago and I’ve wondered where they have been my entire time here in the Alamo City. So very proud of my friends with how far they come and I hope they’re reach the stars very soon. I’m certain we’ll all cross paths many times at the cons. by @sephihakubi
