My name is Alexa and I’m an Esthetician with a decade’s worth of experience, specializing in acne and sensitive skin. 🦋

My goal in the treatment room isn’t just giving you results, but also connecting with you, and giving you the space to be vulnerable in a way that you haven’t been before. You won’t be judged for your routine, or convinced to spend a ridiculous amount on products that you don’t really need. This is a space for you to fully relax, but also have all the answers and tools necessary to get you to your skin goals.

When I heal a skin barrier, sometimes it can look like just using gentle/calming products. But for my acne-prone clients, I make sure to still incorporate treatments to correct concerns.

It’s all about balance, especially with acne prone skin. You’ll want to make sure to use your actives, target bacteria, but also find a way to incorporate calming ingredients and treatments into the facial. ☯️✨🦋 taken in Los Angeles, California by @serafinskin

It’s end of summer, and I can’t be the only one that is noticing new pigment/freckles in the skin. Here’s how to treat it 👇

🍊Introduce some form of an antioxidant serum into your skin, every morning with your sunscreen. This isn’t going to lighten hyperpigmentation, but it will brighten your overall complexion, and protect your skin cells from environmental stressors.

⚡️Lighten your pigment with a Tyrosinase Inhibitor. When our skin experiences too much UV damage, an enzyme called Tyrosinase will over-activate and produce excess melanin. This is what causes dark spots, and blotchiness in the skin. Tyrosinase Inhibitors like Kojic Acid, Alpha-Arbutin, Licorice Root, and Tranexamic Acid, are all wonderful options to help correct the pigment. Use these daily or 3 times a week to see results.

👩‍🔬Come in once a month for a professional chemical peel to speed up the process. Chemical peels force the outer layer of skin to shed, revealing new skin cells underneath. This combined with consistent home treatments will deliver incredible results.

Moments with @tovawestlund 🌀✨

When I met Tova, she was struggling with inflamed & non-inflamed acne, along with acne scars. She’s been struggling with acne for as long as she could remember. When she came to me, her barrier was out of balance, and her confidence in her skin was low.
