May, thank you. 🤍

This month has stretched me, humbled me, and brought me closer to God than I’ve been in a long time. Losing my brother has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced, but through the grief, God has shown me things about myself I needed to see. My need for control, my fears, my attachments, and the ways I’ve tried to hold onto things that were never mine to carry.

The passing of Nehemiah reminds me that brokenness can become the foundation for rebuilding. Heartbreak doesn’t always destroy us; sometimes it’s how God elevates us, refines us, and calls us back to Him.

While I wish my brother were still here, I’m grateful that he is at rest, and I’m grateful for the boldness his passing has awakened in me a deeper love for the Lord and a stronger faith in God’s plan.

May is not only my birthday month, but also my little sister’s. It has been a month of loss, gratitude, reflection, and growth. As I step into this next season, I’m continuing the healing journey not only from my brother’s passing, but from the passing of old versions of myself.
