🐾 June pack walk 🐾

So very proud of our hard working clients and their dogs as well as our SK9 team!

Once a dog has been through a training program with us, they can attend our events to maintain, tune up, and advance their skill sets! We always have a great time and are so grateful for the community we have built and continue to build 😊❤️🐾

At Serenity K9, our mission has always been simple: to bring out the best in dogs by building strong, lasting relationships between them and their families.

We believe that great dog training starts with clear communication, and a deep understanding of each dog as an individual. It’s not just about fixing problems or teaching commands — it’s about helping dogs develop the skill sets they need to truly thrive as part of the family.

From confidence and calmness to responsiveness and clarity, we focus on creating well-rounded dogs who can be fully included in everyday life.

Training with us is just as much about the people as it is about the dogs. We work closely with owners to coach and guide them through the process, making sure they feel supported every step of the way. Our community of clients is like family — with ongoing support, events, and a shared commitment to the long-term success of every dog-human team.
Whether you’re looking for immersive camp style programs, day programs, online coaching, video courses, or hands-on workshops, everything we do is built around relationship, communication, and growth — for both ends of the leash 😊🐾💕

Erebus, the 8 month old Mini Aussie, returned to us for e collar training after completing our puppy program several months ago.

Quality e collar training provides this exuberant young man with fun and freedom as well as creating a clear line of communication between him and his family.

Now Erebus’s owners can enjoy him as an “all around, do-it-all” part of the family! From off leash romps, to public outings, and accompanying them to their place of business 🙂

12 week old GSD very first leash introduction session 🐾

Sabra was introduced to the leash using a slip lead and food. The mechanics and prep work were already there beforehand: lots of work building engagement, reading body language, food work, and some marker training.

That prep makes introducing the concept of leash pressure and teaching him how to respond to pretty fun and simple! The hardest part is actually getting him disengaged enough for me to apply a little pressure and have the opportunity to teach him how to respond to it 🙃

When you start intentionally from the beginning and build the right foundation, it’s pretty simple to create a dog that naturally defers to engaging with you and is butter soft to leash communication.

PS. I have been working on something coming soon that will include full, unedited training sessions, more in-depth training content, and a look behind the scenes with us at Serenity K9. Stay Tuned! 🙂 by @serenityk9

We had such a wonderful time today at the Monroe County Library kicking off our Dog Smart Kids mission! The children learned how to safely greet dogs, understand their body language, and interact appropriately with both unfamiliar dogs and their own.

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was meeting children who had been bitten in the past and had developed a fear of dogs, yet came with open minds to learn and build confidence. Watching those same children happily interacting with Westin and Fig by the end of the presentation absolutely made my heart ❤️

A huge thank you to the Monroe County Library for hosting us, to all of the families who joined us, and of course to my incredible partners, Westin and Fig. They truly are the stars of the show!

If you missed us today, we’ll be presenting Dog Smart Kids again this Sunday at The Society Garden in Macon during Furever After Rescue’s Back to School Bark Bash. We’d love to see you there 🐾😊 by @serenityk9

Our Client Summer Bash was the perfect evening! Training games, ice cream, pup cups, pictures, and most of all everyone coming together for the common goal of having the best relationships and lives with our dogs possible 💙

Thank you so much to our wonderful clients, @shannonhughespetphotography, and @thecoolcone ! by @serenityk9

The days are full and so is my heart 🤍 by @serenityk9

Central GA families!

Come spend the morning with us at the Monroe County Library! Bring the family out for Dog Smart Kids, where kids will have the chance to meet some of my friendly dogs while learning how to understand dog body language, safely interact with and greet dogs, and build confidence around them. It’s going to be a fun, interactive morning! We would love to have you there 🐾🥰 by @serenityk9

Honoring the legacy. Raising the future.

Welcome home, Sabra 💙

No dogs on furniture? Or free access to furniture?

Usually you’ll hear one of the extremes on this topic. But as always, our goal is to create dogs that are mentally sound, balanced, and well-adjusted, which means taking a balanced approach ourselves.

For most dogs, I prefer furniture to be permission based. That means you come up when invited and you get off when asked. More importantly, there shouldn’t be major stress, conflict, or emotional attachment surrounding it. Your dog should be able to enjoy being on the furniture, but also be perfectly content getting off when it’s time.

It’s also important to remember that this can be dependent on the individual dog, their temperament, where they are in training, and the relationship you have with them.

As long as you’re paying attention to your dog’s mental state and keeping things balanced, that’s what matters most! 🐾😊 by @serenityk9

Eight months ago, Ilana was learning to walk while holding my hand and Galil’s leash. Today, she’s confidently walking him all on her own.

There is something incredibly special about seeing the dogs I’ve loved and invested so much into become her best friends and teachers. Watching them enjoy one another and build their own relationships has been far more meaningful than I ever could have imagined.

Time moves so quickly, but seeing my pack and my little girl grow up together is something I will never take for granted ❤️ by @serenityk9

Training is about giving your dog the skills they need and creating a clear line of communication between you and them. The goal isn’t to change who your dog is, but to help them become the best version of themselves—confident, fulfilled, and able to navigate the world with you. While structure and boundaries are an important part of training, they’re not meant to suppress your dog’s spirit or personality. They provide clarity, reduce stress, and create a healthier mindset so your dog can make better choices, feel more balanced, and ultimately be more included in everyday life 😊
