I found myself feeling a little nostalgic for the good old Dribbble of its early days and for the first work I shared there, back in 2010.

It was such a warm, cozy place. I met designers from all over the world, and I’m still in touch with some of them, even if only occasionally. We followed one another’s work, exchanged comments, and shared something that felt genuinely special, a real sense of warmth, curiosity, and connection.

So many years have passed since then. Dribbble has changed a great deal, and its newer policies sometimes make it feel as though that old spirit has been left far behind.

I miss that time.
I miss all of you guys I met there🙌🤍 by @sergeyshapiro

Lettering for Oak and Oar, a Canadian clothing label. Now @voaksportswear

Written with a ruling pen and ink on paper, scanned and finalized in vector. I only cleaned it up a bit, keeping the ragged edges and ink bleeds. That's where the life of the letters is.

When the project went live, the client sent me a hoodie with the print.

More than 10 years later, the print has cracked and faded… and, well, I like it even more now. It finally looks exactly like the original phrase.

Handwritten letters don't go out of date. They age. Like good denim.

Recently I designed a new custom script lettering for ‘River Espresso Club’, a specialty coffee shop based in Minsk, Belarus. The script was developed from hand-written inscription. It was a fun project and a pleasure to work with the guys!

These are some of my Cyrillic works created over the past few years. Some Russian-speaking people think and say that Cyrillic, with its letterforms, is ugly, clunky, rough, crooked, and so on. Do you really think so?

I will never understand why these people think this way and treat their own writing system, their roots with such contempt.

Всем, кто говорит гадости про кириллицу, мол, кривая, страшная, забор и т. п...

Извинитесь!

Ok, ok, this is my two cents for the @logoarchive @logoarchive.now

Not much space to show the full range of styles I work in and have been designed for more than 16 years of making lettering, so I packed in as much variety as I could, both for Latin and Cyrillic logos.
