My fingers are still sore from working on this but also glad I didn’t give up embroidering this midway, as much as I was tempted to. Took me an approximate of 60 hours to work on this tshirt that’s made up entirely of french knots. Hope you like the end results 😁🫁💕

I typed out a bunch of things to say about this artwork but just had to undo it all because nothing can really come close to describing how it really makes me feel after having completed this after working on it for 3 months. This piece has been a real work of mind and soul, much as for you guys who have been patiently waiting for it to come to life, stitch by stitch. It’s my FIRST ever needle painting that’s also really huge in size and I couldn’t be more proud of myself for not letting the mad intricacy in this, get to me.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than to share this art with you all and to be appreciated.

My new year’s resolution is exactly what the title of this book cover is - The Power is mine. I’ve been extremely inactive here on Insta for quite sometime now because I’ve meaning to invest those hours in things that are worthwhile to me. This year is all about rediscovering myself and leading a mindful life that I can make peace with at the end of each day which reiterates back to owning the power I possess within myself.

A little about the embroidery itself - the background is hand painted to closely match the color of the original reference; everything else is hand embroidered in majorly back stitches and long-and-short stitches.

PS: the illustration of the book cover is not by me.

Check for these 4 criteria to help you pick the perfect fabric for your embroidery:

📌Weave of the fabric: a tightly woven fabric gives an even finish to embroidery and allows for more precision

📌Stretch of the fabric: non-stretchy fabric is best for beginners as it does not disfigure the embroidery once the fabric is unhooped

📌Weight of the fabric: a light-weighted fabric is better suited for hand embroidery.

Pro Tip: Light-weighted fabrics will allow the some light to pass through them. (Look closely and you'll see the outline of my hand through the fabric)

📌Color fastness of the fabric: dab a damp cotton ball on the fabric to see if the color is
bleeding. It's best to wash color bleeding fabrics before embroidering on them.

NOTE: This is just a referral guide for beginners. You can sew on absolutely whatever you feel like.

Just some gorgeous texture and a little life update for you guys who’ve stuck around - I’ve been on the go for the past 2 weeks and have barely had any time for interaction on here or just even be active on my work handle. I have a few orders that I’m going to be working on after I’m back home and you’ll obviously get to see those updates but for now, there’s absolutely nothing new for me to show to you guys. Even though my work life has been slumped but my personal life is flourishing and I’m extremely grateful for that. Hope that all of you are doing great too! by @serial_stitcher
