earlier this summer i wrapped production on my sexy little feature film @serialexgirlfriend 🔪 here is a scrapbook of the experience 🖤🚨🖤🚨🖤🚨🖤🚨

i have been told quite a few times (mostly by ex lovers!! 🔥) that i can’t get stuff done, that i’m not a serious enough person and that i’m too emotional. well suck my clit. i made a movie!!!!

i could only do this insanely wild & ambitious thing because so many people loved and believed in me. various thanks:

- to dani & bella (& teams), for being so sexy and cool that design comes second nature, and for creating camp with a handful of pennies
- to destinee, for being a control freak who wants to make last minute changes, just like me, and for permanently damaging your shoulder this summer shouldering that amira
- to grant, for stepping up and being the quickest and kindest gaffer on planet earth (& look at those curls!)
- to stuart, for immediately getting me. for calling for 2 hours before set each day just to gossip and for advocating for me creatively like no one ever has
- to isabella, for filling in wherever and whenever this set needed them. literally jesus christ reincarnate (but talented)
- to my producers, for bearing with me and for boosting morale when i was way too stressed to create fun
- to jacqui, for walking into auditions and just being agnes, exactly as i wrote her
- to jorge, for taking on more than he bargained for and for driving me home every night. especially that one night
- & to my thesis cohort, for seeing this story right from the start all the way to the end. for never questioning my incest humor and for being so speechless in class that it made me realize i had something special here.

my caption is too long so i can’t credit my crew 🙈 i’ll comment them omg by @serialexgirlfriend

BREAKING: the source of commotion has been identified. the girlies are screaming because they need YOUR help! the SLAY CROWDFUNDING PAGE is LIVE! support the girlies by donating to this absurd, camp, queer murder hoax film!

logline: an emotional teen who gets back at her ex by devising a murder hoax at his birthday party, only to be upstaged by a real killer.

why is this film important? SLAY examines the pressure on women and queer folks to be strong and composed perfect characters. the impossible, contradictory standards placed on us - “don’t care too much but don’t be cold,” and “be hot and cool but only effortlessly” - create a standard of inauthenticity that diminishes our identities.

OUR GOAL IS $20,000.

while we know this is an ambitious goal, it is imperative to the slay team to provide a safe creative environment with good food, fair compensation, and camp visual designs. please consider giving to our cause through donations or by spreading the news. all contributions will go towards the film. remember, the girlies are SCREAMING for your SUPPORT!
