New Short: THE GOOD, THE BAD & TIO UMBERTO ⬇️

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

The FINAL CHAPTER of my short film series 😧The Good, The Bad and Tio Umberto 🇩🇴🇵🇷🎲may be my best work. An $850 short that climbed to heights I couldn’t imagine, premiering at the 2024 Warner Bros New York Latino Film Festival, landing me in the 2025 Tomorrows Filmmakers Today Fellowship and serving as my calling card to producers for two years.

And it all came from this desire to put a very personal experience on screen, fighting to feel not only worthy of ones culture but of the people around you. Of all my work, this is the Little Engine That Could, a small project with a ton of heart and more ambition then it knew what to do with. NEW SERIES ALERT! I’m trying something new, setting out on a journey to release all of my unreleased films over the next 6 months🎥

Why? Because I got so lost in the trap of perfection I realized that I never showed the world the fun things I made with the talented people I’ve been lucky enough to work with and that ENDS… On May 1st👀 see you thennnn by @seriouslylouddanny

Big shout-out to Danny Chicon from The Good, the Bad & Tío Umberto! I was pleasantly surprised to run into him at last night’s Nuevayol Shorts for the New York Latino Film Festival. @nylatinofilmfestival

I went to see De tribus y máscaras, a powerful short documentary by Inés Victoria as Mongil Echand. It reminded me how important it is for us to tell our own stories. 👉 @nonstopines

Our film was previously shown at Regal Cinemas as part of NYLIFF, and what a great experience that was! I was honored to play the role of Tio Umberto with an amazing cast.

De tribus y máscaras is a must-see. And if you haven’t seen The Good, the Bad & Tío Umberto, it’s available now on Danny’s YouTube channel. Link in bio!

I don’t think I’m alone in the experience of feeling jealous of a sibling. The relationship can be complicated when you’re just a kid, still trying to find how you fit into the world. So in indie filmmaker fashion, I went ahead and made an experimental short about it- check out Next Point Wins👨🏿‍🫯‍👨🏾⛹🏽‍♂️❤️‍🩹 thro the link in my bio! by @seriouslylouddanny
