“It’s Friday, and I’m reflecting on how grateful I am to be part of a community of creatives who can turn a blank stage into a world full of story. Fellow set designers — what’s been your proudest design moment this week?”

For me its working on @thebtmpodcast . In our line of business it doesn’t always stop once the design is installed. I enjoy heading back to the location in a “on-set dresser role to ensure that what I envisioned is a masterpiece for filming.

Meet the Crew of Black Latina the Play- Keomi Tarver- Creative Director/Head of Choreography

Keomi Tarver is a choreographer, director, performing artist, educator, and creator of Abundance with Keomi and Black Girl Bloom. Her multidisciplinary work uses movement, storytelling, and community to create transformative artistic experiences rooted in identity, liberation, and self-expression. With over 15 years of experience, Keomi’s work spans performance, theatre, film, education, workshops, and community-based arts experiences in New York City, San Diego, and beyond. She has collaborated with organizations including Brooklyn Academy of Music, Mark Morris Dance Center, Brooklyn Museum, The Old Globe, San Diego City College, and transcenDANCE Youth Arts Project. As Creative Director/Head of Choreography for Black Latina Movement, Keomi helps shape the production’s creative vision and develops movement and choreography that deepen its storytelling, characters, and emotional world.

Meet the Crew of Black Latina the Play- William Johnson- Music Composer/Sound Designer

US Air Force veteran, music producer, percussionist, ethnomusicologist, and educator.
William Johnson is a Studio session percussionist recorded and performed with international award winning musicians. William currently travels and records from personal studio in central North Carolina with over forty albums to credit and clients on four continents including four solo albums as an independent artist, film and television credits on stations such as TLC, Univision, Discovery TLC, Telemundo, and more. Raised in Southern California, and based in North Carolina. On percussion faculty at University of North Alabama. Regularly volunteers and presents at various schools throughout North Carolina. Conducts/facilitates percussion clinics in schools, conferences, and universities across the country (USA). William Johnson produces engaging content across multiple platforms with over 100k followers and hundreds of thousands of views monthly.
