As you might know, my oldest son has struggled with mental illness over the last year, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness of New York City has been a huge support for me. @naminyc_metro provides incredible mental health services free of charge, including a support hotline, classes, peer support, and advocacy to increase government funding for mental health services. I’ve used their support groups and one-on-one peer support services, and I’m so grateful for @naminyc_metro’s work. I hope you’ll consider a gift of any size to support individuals with mental illness, and caregivers like me who are navigating difficult times thanks to NAMI-NYC’s programs. Friends, I rarely make videos, but we all need to speak out. It's time we demand the abolishment of ICE. As someone who has been involved in social justice since the 90s, I feel strongly that incremental change won't work here. And to those people just joining us in this fight, I say welcome. Friends, if you aren’t loudly speaking out against ICE and this administration what are you waiting for? ICE is murdering people in the street and Trump, Vance, and Noem are telling us to not believe what we are seeing with our own eyes. If we don’t scream now there will be NOTHING left of our democracy. If you aren’t willing to fight for yourself at least do it for your kids and future generations who will grow up under fascism if we don’t fight back. by @sethmrosen

Friends, I wanted to share a quick life update. In May, Zach began suffering from acute mental health challenges that require intense support and it became obvious that their wellbeing required more care than could be provided while working full time. In August, I went on FMLA leave from the @lgbtq_museum to care for Zach, and the Museum was absolutely INCREDIBLE every step of the way. After two hospitalizations and truly wonderful support from an amazing team and @childmindinstitute, Zach is doing better for which we are so thankful. However, mental health challenges are a long road, and to support Zach it was clear I couldn’t return to the Museum, and I resigned from my position in November. I’m starting King of Cups Nonprofit Consulting to continue to support small and midsize nonprofits while still having the flexibility to support our family, and I’ll share more about this in January. I’m also so grateful for my incredible husband, my true partner in this life. I wanted to write this because we so often don’t talk about mental health challenges, especially with children, and how difficult finding care can be. But I’ve talked to so many families that have struggled, and if you have struggled, I want you to know you are not alone. I see you, and I understand. I’ll share more about King of Cups Nonprofits Consulting in January, and I’ll continue talking about mental health. I’m wishing you love, health, peace, and rest in this holiday season. This year has shown me again and again the power and importance of community, and I am so grateful for you. Sending love ❤️❤️ by @sethmrosen
