You know the world be rockin to it to it - Cheris
It’s that time of the week again for our 1 hour Beat Challenge. Hugh has one hour to make a beat around a random sample that his co-producer Neil chooses. Neil records and edits the creative process. Together we are pushing each others creativity :)

We made a Lofi Phonk beat!!
So you know we had to do a little DJing with it
Our buddy Mark came over with his nylon string guitar
and laid down the dopest sample :)
That sample inspired this viby beat
Hugh being a fan of the dankest 90s Hip Hop
picked out the vocal
(Soul of Mischief- 93 to Infinity)
With all those ingredients you know we had to cook up a little DJ routine video for the Sword Smiths (thats y’all 😉)
Hope you enjoy ☺️

DJ Blooper Reel
Hey folks! We know you all must think we just slay these videos on the first take (jk), but we really don’t. Sometimes it takes way too long for us just to get a 30 second video out. The other day, we were shooting outside because it was so nice out. Here’s a few pictures and a video of us screwing up over and over! Practice makes perfect, we are all human.

We’re so stoked to finally have released our new single, Infusions! This track came straight from Hugh’s heart.
It was produced in early October, just days after Hugh was released from an unexpected stay at the hospital, and after a bit of a lull in his music career. Without any notice, his blood platelets dropped to an undetectable level, which leaves one susceptible to internal hemorrhaging. It was a life-threatening situation and required multiple types of blood infusions, as well as the highest dose of steroids the doctors are allowed to prescribe. After leaving the hospital, he broke through his writer’s block in a profound way and produced Infusions during the first three days he was out of the hospital. The song’s signature refrain, “I’m not ready yet”, refers to his increased will to live, not yet ready to die. This song also came after a long and troubling year following the loss of two close people who died in tragic and sudden ways. The loss of his friend and future father-in-law sent him into a lengthy depressive episode in which going to work, producing music, and maintaining a positive attitude essentially became impossible. This depression met its crux with his sudden stay at the hospital, and his own close brush with death broke the spell and allowed him to get past the tragic events of the last year. Infusions is an ode to the will to live and a memoir of the year that came before it. Reserving a more somber tone than most of Seven Swords’ music, Infusions is a tribute to those lost, and a reminder that there’s more to life, yet to come.
