This week we are closed Thursday 9/24 and Friday 9/25, but we will be hosting a bye-for-now weekend celebration!Saturday 9/26 and Sunday 9/27 we will be open 8 am to 4 pm, and we will sell our regular menu until we sell out! Come through! Bring your friends! Bring your family and your lovers and your ex and please bring cash for tips! Our lovely kitchen and bar staff are giving us their time for free to make this weekend possible.

Going forward, we will not have regular business hours. The cafe will be closed for the time being.It was a hard decision, but we feel it is a necessary one. We will still be booking and hosting shows and events, and look forward to seeing all of you this weekend and beyond.

We are the oldest worker-run restaurant in the country, a community-driven collective that operates essentially as a non-profit. We provide free meals to people who need it, use our space to host shows, open mics, and community events, and we absolutely love every minute of it. But the past few years it has gotten harder. Capitalism Fucking Sucks. We have hit a point where we need to think about our future, past fundraising year after year for property taxes.

Thank you everyone for your donations! Y’all have kept us in high spirits through this turbulent time. We are eternally grateful for each of you, for your support and your love! For coming to shows at Seward, volunteering your time and your art. We love you guys. If you are interested in being a part of Seward’s future, stay tuned. Hey all, we are closed for the rest of the weekend.

To be honest, we are in pretty dire financial straits and are all absolutely exhausted. Restaurants in general have been hit hard this year, and we are feeling that strain with sales dropping dramatically and costs/taxes increasing. For now, if you want to help out, feel free to donate through the Ko-Fi link in our bio. We will be in touch about the future of the cafe ❤️

Look at these delicious baked goods! You’re really hungry right now. Just so so hungry. I think a freshly baked raspberry chocolate chip muffin would hit the spot. I think you deserve it. Cmon already. Pleeaaase? We’ve been so good. Don’t you think a huge chocolate chip cookie would give you the energy to get back in the pit? Or the pits? Or maybe it’s the pits and you need someone to pick you up and tell you it’s gonna be okay. It can’t do that but it tastes good.
