Making Space got a uniform!!!

Thank you to the incredible Lynn from @sewnadaptive for kitting us both out with the most GORGEOUS bespoke “Making Space” bombers.

For anyone with a disability interested in having clothing made bespoke or tailored to fit, to perfection - you have got to talk to Lynn. She’s a magician!

I’m back with yet another independent sewing pattern design with @lws_lynnwardrobesews and @sewnadaptive—this time, it’s a stylish, functional ostomy-concealing fanny pack! 🎉

This design features:
👜 A removable, adjustable strap for versatile wear
👜 Front storage for extra convenience
👜 Fashion-forward function, proving that adaptive accessories can be just as stylish as they are practical

For this prototype, I repurposed a @coach tote to show how you can take an existing bag or up cycle all kinds of fabrics and turn it into an adaptive piece that works for your needs—because inclusivity should always be stylish! 💖♻️

We are so thankful for @lws_lynnwardrobesews at @sewnadaptive for designing and making the contestant uniforms for THE INVALIDS. Our director @chrissymarshall_ had a vision for what she wanted @jociscott and @jomarielawrence to wear in the games, and Lynn took her ideas and ran with them! Drawing inspiration from the Squid Game uniforms, these costumes were both fashionable and functional. Lynn digitized and embroidered each of the contestant numbers using @ricomahq embroidery machine!

Lynn previously did the costume design for Body Swap, also produced by and starring Joci Scott. Thank you for your continued support of @disabilityfilmchallenge and the disabled community!

Adaptive Alterations for Men’s Dress Slacks | Assisted Dressing 🧵♿

Getting dressed shouldn’t have to be a struggle. At Sewn Adaptive, I specialize in adapting everyday clothing to make dressing easier for individuals who require assistance, while maintaining the look and style of the original garment.

In this video, I’m sharing adaptive alterations to men’s dress slacks designed to make assisted dressing more manageable for both the wearer and their caregiver.

Interested in having garments adapted? I touch on garment submissions in the video and want to remind prospective clients that Sewn Adaptive is consistently booked at least a month in advance. Please be mindful of that timeframe when planning your adaptive alterations.

For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’m joining the #SewPink2026 challenge with an adaptive sewing project created with breast cancer survivors in mind. 💗

In this video, I’m showing how to sew a simple post-mastectomy breast prosthesis cover that can be worn comfortably inside an existing bra. This adaptive sewing solution can help make a breast prosthesis more comfortable against the skin without requiring someone to replace the bras they already own.

Sewing for breast cancer survivors is a wonderful example of what adaptive sewing can do, using our sewing skills to create more comfortable, accessible clothing and practical solutions based on an individual’s needs.

Breast cancer awareness is also about life after treatment, and thoughtful post-mastectomy sewing and adaptive clothing can give survivors more choices in how their clothing works for them.

The Gaucho Pants, Cropped Camp Shirt, and Cropped Funnel Neck Quilted Vest are now available at LWS Trims and every pattern has a complete sew-along video on the @sewnadaptive Adaptive YouTube channel to walk you through the construction step by step.
