Hi! I’m Hollie 👋 it’s #igquiltfest2025day1 and I thought this would be a good time to officially introduce myself. I started quilting in 2014 after my mother passed away and I wanted to make a memory quilt from her clothing. That quilt did get finished-it was my first quilt and probably the worst quilt I’ve ever made-but filled with so much love and many memories. I also learned a lot from that quilt and fell head over heels in love with all things quilting, sewing and fabric after that. 💟

Growing up my mother was always at her sewing machine mending clothes for our family, altering prom dresses for me and my friends, adding bows and eyelet lace to her t-shirts to make them more girly and pretty or making curtains for every room in the house. These are core memories for me. I often think about if she were alive today, how much fun we would have making stuff together.

I’m up to almost 70 quilts made over the last 10+ years! I also make all sorts of other items and love epp, fpp, embroidery and my ‘to make’ list is never ending. My fabric stash is like a whole separate hobby for me but I’m not afraid to use it! I want to look at all the fabrics, prints, textures and quilty goodness everywhere, all at once, all the time.

Working on my first lone star quilt! I tried to make one years ago and it didn’t go well. For this one I am following the sew-along for this pattern and it is turning out so much better! I didn’t plan very well however and ran out of fabric for 3 of the 4 colors so it’s on hold for a bit. 🤣

Pretty new fabric line Kissin’ In the Moonlight from @poppiecotton. I mixed several of the low volumes from this collection with country confetti basics for some fun pops of color.

The placemats are a pattern I created based on a Pinterest image (with an inactive link) but I just loved the placemats so much I had to recreate the look of them. And the bowl cozies are a super quick and fun pattern from @staceyleecreative

I made a leash for my pup! Who’s not exactly a pup cause he will be (at least) 14 next month. 🧐 Where does the time go? But he will always be my little guy. 💚 🐕

The second pic has a close up of the cutest dog fabric that looks just like him! It’s called Dog Huts and is currently still available at @fabricpop shop.

And the third pic is Reggie. He also loves quilts. 🥰

I got to create several different items with this beautiful new line from @poppiecotton designed by @sheri.mcculley. I made a pencil pouch with lots of fussy cuts (this fabric line has so many good ones!!)

I also made some simple fold over fabric bins to hold clips or fabric or postage stamps or anything you want! The fabric postage stamps were the most fun to make with so many darling little items to cut out. 🥰🍓🍯🍑🦋🐝🌸
